How far in advance

would i need to book shows like David Copperfield , Cirque Du Soleil "O".
also trips like helicopter down the strip, visits to Hoover Dam , helicopter canyon etc, are the better deals available on line, or is it best to book these when in Vegas .
also which companies are the best that you could recommend

In re to Shows you guys, they usually go on sale 90 days
prior to the night YOU want to be there so....
Check out your Show's seating chart, decide your price,
choose a SECTION and ROW you'd like to request and
call the box office. Obviously, the better seats go first, so
the sooner you call, the better.

For 'O', I suggest center SEC. 203, ROWs Q,R,S or as
close to that as possible.
If you prefer the Front section 103, sit no closer than the
last back row. 1.888.987.7111

For David's Show, it's fun to be closer.
If you like the booths...SEC. BB, BOOTH 105,106,104,103,107
In back of those and a couple 'steps' up...tables for 4 in SEC. D.

But the best seats won't be the cheapest option. O is probably the only thing you list that might risk a sellout (I only say that because I never see discounts for O - doesn't mean you wouldn't be able to get seats closer to your trip, but since you're probably not going to find a discount, you might as well book what you want in advance)

When discounts are available, someone posts them. Any Groupons get posted automatically by Sonya the board owner. And the rest of us try to chime in when we see something good on Travelzoo. Goldstar has regular discounts, etc.

For specific shows or activities you're looking for, the search feature is in the upper right menu bar

 

If you feel you need to use one of the discounters,

The reason I prefer them is you'll know your SEC. ROW
and SEAT when you're done. They'll send you an email.
The othe discounters make you go to your Shows box
office the night of the Show and THEN find out and
it's first come/first serve...don't care for that.
