Is NYNY fairly easy to get around inside the hotel if you are staying there? The only reason I ask is because I heard someone kind of complain about how difficult it is to navigate one's way through the resort, especially if you are a guest there. Thanks.

 

It's not bad. It's very tall (high ceiling) so if you get yourself a few landmarks, it's easy to get the right direction. And it has a giant circular bar right at the center, so that orients you.

For me, the part I don't like is that among some of the shops and restaurants it can get kind of narrow. That doesn't hurt your ability to navigate, I just don't like to be in that kind of enclosed space.

 

The "alleys" of the restaurants area might be a little confusing at times. Especially when you had a few too many long islands and are trying to get back to your room.

 

I lost my wife in NY NY for like s good 30minutes after going to the John, while she was playing slots. She stayed at thr same machine as well. For some reason the rows of slots screw me up there. NY NY and PH are notorious for me to get lost in

 

Sorry but since we talking about NYNY here can anyone tell me can you request a fridge and do they charge for it??

 

I've always found it a bit confusing. Not Caesars Palace level confusing, but confusing nonetheless. The high ceilings and landmarks help, but I have always found the sightlines difficult when looking about at eye level there

 

Stayed at NYNY many times and I have to say that the best part about being a quest is that the elevators to your room (there are 3 different towers for rooms) are VERY close to the central action. So at least you aren't trekking a long distance to get on the elevator like at MGM, for example. I would suggest to find a focal point and navigate from there. I really don't think it's too confusing there.

Yes, we have rented a fridge at NYNY before. I believe it was around $30/night. BUT, I remember someone telling me that if you have a medical condition and need the use of a fridge, like storing your insulin if you are diabetic, then they will bring you one for FREE. It's worth a try!!!

 

I find NYNY one of the easiest resorts to navigate. Shops in the front, games in the middle, restaurants in the back.

 

Sounds like your describing a mullet. Business in the front, party in the back

Have to disagree to an extent. I've stayed at NYNY at least 25 times and I know the place very well, but I still find myself getting momentarily disoriented now and then on the casino floor.

I think it's because the layout of the casino is triangle-shaped, rather than rectangular such as, say, Monte Carlo. If you wind up at one of the points of the triangle, it can be confusing to figure out how best to get over to one of the other sides. Plus, the center bar and the bathroom area near the front desk do block the sight lines, which doesn't help.

Still, it's not a particularly big place, so the OP shouldn't worry about getting lost for long. Basically, just head for the center bar and then look around till you find your way again.

And, as others have mentioned, it's much easier than many places in Vegas in terms of getting bags from check-in to the appropriate elevator bank.

 

That's a great point about it being more of a triangle. I also think the corner with the bar at times square and the shops etc kind of get people turned around sometimes.
I do like NYNY though and I find it much less confusing than some others.
