    Thursday Oct 25

Flight was right on time. I sat next to the nicest lady from Lincoln, Nebraska and it made the 50 minute flight go by super fast.

I took a taxi to the Marriott Grand Chateau ($30!!!!!! ugh) to meet up with the others, unpacked, and changed out of my work attire.

We then headed straight to MGM to track down the Lion's Share slot...I played for about a hour and made $60...I didn't see one Lion though .

We wanted to find some Pia Gow Poker but all the tables at MGM were full or too high of a limit, so we headed over to NYNY to look for some PGP but they were all full too. We found an empty "Ultimate Texas Hold'em" table so we say down. I have never seen a table like this, instead of getting actual chips, you make all of your bets on a touch screen inlayed into the table. It was kinda fun but I missed the feel of the chips and the fun of making stacks. We played there for about two hours and I lost $100.

We then went to Excalibur to continue our search for PGP. There was only one PGP table at Excalibur and it was full so we played some slots. I played the Mystic Unicorn slot and ended up hitting 5 columns of all unicorns...just like my last trip!!

$200 on a 40 cent bet??? 50,000% profile?? I'll take that all day!!!

After Excalibur we decided to start walking back to our room. We stopped at MGM for another round on the Lion's Share and as we walked toward it we found an empty PGP table...and it was $10 min...perfect way to learn how to play!!!

I was able to play for about a hour but eventually blew $100. I did have a few good hands though...a few flushes and straights. This seems like a game that you make all the money through the bonus bet. After PGP we hit the Lion again and I lost $120...I got a few lions this time but none on the payline.

We finally walked back to the room and hit the sack to get some rest for a day at the race track

    Friday Oct 26

Went to the NHRA drags all day. First time I'd been to drags (other than "Run What You Brung" night at the local strip) in about 10 years...Boy did I forget the feeling you get throughout your body when those top fuel funny cars and rails launch off the line. We stood as close to the start line as we could for the last few sets of rails and WOW!! When they launch you can feel the power propagate through the ground...made my knees go weak a few times. I had never seen top fuel cars at night and it sure was a treat. They ended the night with two sets of jet cars...being in the aerospace industry I can truly appreciate the engineering behind these cars.

After the drags we came back to the hotel and I was the only one who wanted to go out and gamble. So I changed and went to MGM for some more Lions action. I lost $120 really quick but with another $60 I got back to $180 and cashed out breaking even. I then walked over to Hooters to play some full pay JOB.

I was playing JOB and doing pretty well and this guy frantically came over to me and said this machine he was playing just went into some jackpot mode that requires a max bet and he didn't have enough to make the max bet and he didn't want it to go to waste. So I cashed out and went to this machine, sat down, slide my ticket in, and this guy started taking control and hitting the buttons. He was telling me he does this for a living and he has special techniques to trick the system and blah blah blah...he was switching between games and changing the denomination like it was some sort of cheat code. I was pretty sauced up so I couldn't really keep track of what he was doing and before I knew it I had 0 credits and he says "ah sh*t...sorry man...it didn’t work this time."

The jackpot thing was some multiplier that grows if you get dealt a winning VP hand and then grows more depending on the hands you get after the draw.

I was still sitting at the machine about to get up and he grabbed another guy walking around looking for a machine for himself and gave him the same shpeal and had me move and him sit down. He whispered to me that when this guy tips him he will give me some since he lost for me. I stood back and watched the same thing happen to this guy...same lines...same apology.

I don't know if he works for the hotel or if he just gets people to put in money by pretending he knows some trick and if they do happen to win something he convinces them to give him some since he "gave them the secrets". Whatever it is I just wanted to let people know to BEWARE and don't be a sucker/idiot like me. Trying to put a positive spin on it...It was a learning experience.

After I got played, I bought two beers (I know I know) and walked back to the hotel and went to sleep.

Sounds like a fun time, other than the asshat scammer. How much did he take you for? Hopefully it wasn't much since his pitch was that he just needed enough to max bet the next pull. I've read about that scam here. These guys must be pretty convincing because it sounds pretty ludicrous on the surface (he does this for a living yet doesn't have another $3 to bet the next hand? Although I have no doubt he does 'this' for a living.)

Anyway, good learning experience and hopefully you'll win some cash to make up for it.

How is Hooters these days? They closed up the Hooters here so I really have no chance to go any more. Maybe I'll stop in while in Vegas.

The Hooters casino is decent...It has lower limit tables and full pay JOB. Cheap drinks and the CW service is usually pretty good. I have never eaten at the Hooters in the casino but I'm sure it is the same as any other Hooters.

I will say...the talent is much much better at this Hooters than the ones in Arizona that I have been too.

Didn't do much because I had to work from the hotel most of the day.

I took a break from work and walked over to MGM to play the Lion's Share slot and donated $180.

    Thats about it for Saturday

    Sunday Oct 28

    Another pretty lazy day.

Hung out in the hotel and watched the Formula 1 race till about 1pm then we walked over to the Monte Carlo because we had never been inside there. Few found an empty PGP table and sat down and played there for about 2 hours, I ended up breaking even.

We then walked back to the hotel to get the rest of the group and head to dinner at the "Broadway Burger Bar" at NYNY. I highly recommend this place...the burgers are AMAZING! We played some VP and slots at NYNY for a while and did really bad. We played some more slots at Paris and PH and again did really bad so we decided to call it a night and head back to the hotel.

While laying there in bed watching TV I got a second wind and decided to hit the casinos again. I walked over to MGM to play the Lion's Share slot but there was someone on it...they only had 35 credits left so I sat down at a nearby slot to wait. They ran out of credits and stood up and walked by me and said "it’s all yours"...I guess I wasn't as sneaky as I thought I was.

I played $120 and didn't hit jack...didn't see any lions and only had 2 mixed bars. I got up and another guy was waiting to play so I sat next to him and watched. He was NOIR...first time I had seen a NOIR card...it was so cool haha. He threw in a twenty and typed in his PIN to play on freeplay...he was on fire. Bars after Bars after Bars...he turned $20 into $185 in a matter of minutes and cashed out.

I figured the machine was hot so I threw in another $42...and again hit nothing.

I then walked over to Hooters for some JOB and was doing ok for awhile...I wasn’t making much but I wasn’t losing so I was able to play for a good while...but eventually lost.

Bought 2 beers and walked back to the hotel to go to sleep.

Sorry about the scammer at hooters, but sounds like you're having a kicka** time other than that.

Next time someone tries to pull something like that, please send the cash my way... I'm stranded and just need 6 more dollars so I can buy a greyhound ticket to my brothers place because someone stole my wallet. Or something like that ;)

Some guy attempted to give me the same "offer" at PH the other day. The music was too loud and I was only half paying attention so I didn't get the entire proposition. How does this scam work and what does the scammer get out of this?

A combination of too many beers and the guy was very convincing...I didnt realize he was going to be hitting all the buttons...I thought he was just pointing out that there was a bonus round in play and that I was going to be playing...but he kept saying we need to be fast so we dont lose the bonus and blah blah blah.

Bottom line...too many beers  :drunk:

From what I gathered...If you do actually hit something good while playing "with him" he convinces you to "tip" him. He grabbed a third guy as I was leaving (so I watched) and that guy ended up making $50...and the scammer said "it would be cool if you could give me like 10 or 20 since I showed you the machine and the tricks." The guy said ok...cashed in the voucher...and walked away. KARMA??

The scammer would also order a drink from the CW and when she would bring it he would say to his "player" "hey, you have a buck for this nice girl"

So he potentially gets tipped and free drinks

Ahh yes, that's about what I thought. I normally get people straight up asking for money.
