I was scheduled for a check in on Friday Oct 19 for two nights free. It included a slot tournament for $100. First prize was $20,000 cash.

So I get there, check in. The front desk lady wasn't particularly friendly. Anyway she didn't mention anything about tournament.

Went to Club Palms. They had no info at all. Finally got an answer. The tournament was cancelled. Not enough people. Was never informed about this at all. A email, phone or something would have helped

So since the tournament was canceled, they were putting a random amount of free play on the players card. Well for some reason I was not given any. A host came out, and said sorry no one told you about it being cancelled. Then she called club palms to see why no free play. They had no answer. So she was the one that was to decide how much free play. Uhhh 0. She's like go have fun out there. Play, play play. Whatever.

It's ashame that I was treated like this as I have always enjoyed Palms. Plus the new rooms are very nice. Something defiantly up there. Hardly busy, even the clubs were not as hopping as usual. The spa is closed. Have to use spa at Palms Place. The pool was closed. Had to use Palms Place pool. No chairs at all on Saturday. Its a small area, but still.

I know they going through changes. They better shape up.

    Paperposter, I agree with
you the old ones were not great. Now when they first opened they were nice. The only thing about new room is no bathtub.

Yes the service is awful. I notice they don't have the players they used to. Of course when they do gift day the people come. Its just they are not high rollers.

Have not played a there a lot lately cuz no good offers. In the past I have made it to there High Roller card.

I would totally agree. I gave Palms a try last trip, and it will be the last time I step foot in that place.

The check in staff was rude. The dealers were rude. My host was rude, and told me after the trip I didn't bet enough.

No wonder I was the only one playing in their high limit room.

Thanks but no thanks. I'll stay on the strip from now on.

I used to LOVE the Palms. It was so hip and vibrant and fun. It just seemed to get worse and worse every year though. There just seems to be nothing but negativity now. The well-dressed young successfuls crowd has been replaced with chest-bumping wannabe tough guys and Jersey Shore extras. The friendly and cute waitresses have been replaced with stick-up-their-butts, I-hate-my-job-and-every-person-I-see miscontents. The mojo of the casino is dead.

I've not set foot inside for probably 2 years. I wish someone would inject some life into it, but I'm not holding my breath.

    Yes.

I can't see how anyone over 30 can enjoy that place.

I used to stay there/play there, then just play there.
Back in the early days, it was lots of fun...haven't played there
    in over a year.
    THE MALOOF DAYS ARE HISTORY.
I still enjoy SANTA FE AND THE FAT CITY HORNS every Monday night
...10:30/$10. but even they are thinking about a new venue.

Interesting. I was booked for the same tournament. My host called me 2 days before to tell me it was cancelled. Said they weren't sure how much, but planned on giving free play instead. The tournament was worth 50K and they planned for 100 players. That's a payout of 500 per person on average so I was expecting something in that range would be fair.

Got there and the host eventually told me I'd get $100. Pretty lousy. First place in the tournament was 20K and you were guaranteed $50 in free play. I was not very happy either. Luckily, hit a couple royals so it was still a profitable trip.

The crowd is a bit young but I don't mind the scenery, if you know what I mean. :evillaugh

The do still have great games to play and it's small so easy to navigate. Where else can you get from your machine to your room in 2 minutes? I'll probably still play there as long as they have good games and decent offers. The remodeled rooms in the original tower are pretty nice now too.

They DID NOT handle this tournament cancellation well though. Can't believe they couldn't come up with 100 players.

I was so upset with them. I really thought I was missing out on some good free play. Just 100 is crazy. I guess people didn't want to pay the 100. Usually the i lnvited ones are free. I

Cf84, I was so upset with them. I really thought I was missing out on some good free play. 100 bucks is not even enough. I guess people didn't want to pay the 100. Usually the i lnvited ones are free. I loved the rooms. Very nice. But the amenities just weren't there at.dll. After 3am on a Sunday very quiet.

My invite WAS for free entry so they must have had varying offers based on play level. They definitely botched it cancelling so late and offering so little to compensate. Like I said, for now they still offer me enough that I'll keep going back but I'm a bit worried for their future.

They have several over 100% VP games again so that's a good thing. If they get rid of their good machines, I'd be gone. I do wish Maloof was still in control though. Just doesn't have that same vibe anymore.

Returned from Vegas Monday. Went to the Palms to check out the Halloween costumes Saturday night. The place was dead. Returned Sunday evening and it was the same. No vibe in the casino at all. I would think this place is in trouble.

Interesting story in the Norm column of the LVRJ about the Palms cutting UFC head, Dana White's credit line in half, while he was playing! Palms President, Joe Magliarditti tried to meet with him later to smooth things over, but White was pissed and has pulled all UFC events from the Palms and sworn off the property.

I was 'hit' by the October tournament cancellation, did not get FP in exchange, but ended up not going to Vegas.

So a few weeks later in November I went back to pick up a cruise certificate and stayed 2 Nights from Saturday. The room I got was nice enough, on the 53rd floor just below the Ghostbar. Staff at check in was very friendly and alerted me of the potential noise.

In general I had a good experience with most staff.

The place was just changing the name of the tower into 'Fantasy Tower'. There was big rebuilding going on taking out many of the high limit slots.

Most disappointed I was with the table games, which for many hours where dead. The selection is bad unless you play BJ. One three card poker table is the only carnival game they can put up beside a texas holdem. Very sad.

I played PaiGow for many many hours betting up to two hands of 150 each. Suddenly Sunday morning at like 4 am they decide to CLOSE the table on me, in the midst of my action. Official states its only openly in the afternoon.

I really do like their rooms, especially the suites are pretty awesome. Their gaming is however not on par.

After my last trip I filled out an honest and long survey - never heard of them. Best part is the two most recent offers they send me did not even include free rooms anymore.

We went to the Palms for a breakfast buffet last year. It was the worst buffet I've had in LV and I ate at the CC $2.95 buffet on my first trip.

I'm a 60 something so I know the Palms isn't catering to my demographics but why offer a buffet at all if it's not decent.

Maybe once the remodeling is done it will pick up again.

The rooms in palms tower soon to be called ivory tower are very nice. I wonder if they remodel rooms in playboy tower as well?

Last weekend stayed there three nights comp. They charged me for one night. But took off. Place very quiet. I know its not high season but still

I actually liked their buffet. As for offers I've just received another one in the mail and once again it included free nights and free play. Not sure if I will take them up on it.
