Johnnie Walker Blue Comp

Anybody know if they comp Johnnie Blue in the Aria Blackjack highlimit room?
If not, any other MGM property that would comp it.
I like to play 50/hand at 2 spots for a total of 100 per round. but this wouldn't work there because it's 100/hand.

I also do 100/hand doing 1 hand.

 

They will comp you anything they have if you're playing high enough - but frankly, I'm doubtful $50/hand at 2 spots will get you Johnnie Blue - also, as you noted, you won't be able to get into the Carta Privada at $50/hand [you'd need at least $100/hand [possibly $200/hand] - that's if you can even find a table with a $100 minimum, which might not be the case on a busy night].

 

I've played at the Carta Privada but only drank black in there. wasn't thinking about the drinks then, but now, i want to drink try some higher end liqour. It was 100/hand midweek and i was betting black. I should have asked for recommendations from the bartender.

Is it possible to get blue on the main floor as a comp if i do 50/hand at 2 spots. Should a build a rapport which a pit boss after an hour or so do get those kind of drinks?

higher end drinks aren't all that important but it would be nice to get something.

 

I've tried asking aria for blue playing 100 a hand with a good rapport with the pit boss. But he wasn't going for it. He kept joking that he would take it off my express comps. I get blue label comped at Bellagio betting less then 100/hand but I get along with all the pit bosses there and am there quite frequently for long periods of time. I suggest just be really nice with the pit and ask politely. Chances are probably no, but if they do. U r drinking blue instead of black.

As is the case with most comps, I'll just ask. Worst they can say is no, right?

 

And make sure it's actually Blue. One time they claimed it was Blue, and it turned out to be Black.

 

I think pit bosses use the same comp formula as your host. You earn comps while you play so at $100 a hand, you'll have to play a while before you earn enough comps to get one blue label comped (I was billed one time for somewhere between $35-40 and I'm not sure if it is "cheaper" as far as comp value is concerned).

You can order Blue Label anywhere on the casino floor if they have it and whether you can have your pit boss comp it depends on your play. I usually play for an hour or two before I bother asking for a Blue Label. Just want to save the awkwardness of being asked to charge to the room.

 

The other thing to do is play the same pit throughout your trip (or in my case, throughout multiple trips.) Pit bosses (and at craps, dealers and boxmen) repeat over and over, and they get to know that you're a good customer and how you tip. Since I tend to play the same times every day, I tend to get the same shift of people. I find that they take very good care of me. Of course in reality, for as much as I tip, it would probably be cheaper to just buy the drink.

 

I like the tip about playing in the same pit and shift. I'll definitely use that.

 

the one time i played BJ at Carte Privada i was with VegasBJ and we had 4 guests with us. we didn't drink, but they served our guests all they could drink the entire time we played. and they have all kinds of top shelf stuff available in there. they definitely take good care of you there.

 

Carta Privada also comps if you're a baccarat player, not just blackjack/roulette

 

there is no Bacc tables in Carte Privada. the Bacc tables at Aria are around the corner and up the stairs. but they probably do get their drinks from the same bar.

 

I play Bac in their Bac room. I think I remember seeing a HL lounge near the Bac room right below the stairs. If I was looking for red wine, would it be a good idea to either check out that lounge or Carte Privada to see what they have opened?

 

no idea, i don't drink when i'm playing. but it would be worth checking out both places and talked to the bartenders and getting a feel for who's going to have the best wine opened usually. also if you play there often and make friends with the bartender, he will be more apt to open special bottles just for you.

 

I like to drink at the tables when I am playing as much as the next guy. It never really crossed my mind to explore the finer offerings of the bar. I have always just went with beer or easy mixed liquor drinks. I am going to start requesting 30 year old Laphroaig and coke. I wonder what they have stashed back there. I would imagine some good stuff. I have never even thought about champagne, which I happen to love. When is standard operating procedure with these things?

 

Interesting. I've been to HL rooms where there's a bar but I have never ordered from the bartender since I usually just do my drinking while gambling instead of taking a break and hit a lounge. I've always ordered from the CW. I suppose if you order from the bartender they would give you a bill and you can charge to your room or they'll just ask where you're playing and have a CW bring it to you? Would love to find out how this works.

 

At Cosmo, there is a bar in the high limit room. If you order from the bartender you get charged. If you order at the table while playing, it's free.

 

Depends I guess but it's all about who you know. When they know you and know you play they're not going to give you a bill. But honestly at the HL bars they usually just hand out drinks to anybody that I've seen. They never seem to really question anybody about their play or whatever. But it also pays to know the pit bosses as they can vouch for you if there ever is a question.

Ha. My father is a decent scotch collector. When I was younger I made a mixed drinks with a good springbank and he went nuts.
He said I could drink all I want but it's gotta be straight.
Lesson learned.
