I have read on here that people get free Cosmo's or martini's at the Cosmo.. is it both or one while playing slots? Also does anyone have any idea of what kind I can order, or perhaps give me some ideas?

They'll tell you their "specialty" is a cosmopolitan, but you can get any other kind of drink as well. I thought their lemon drop martinis and chocolate martinis were good.

I think it's more of a what do you want/like situation.

I like sitting at the Bond bar and playing vp. Generally I tell the bartender "I like rum" and they make something up for me on the spot. These folks aren't drink slinging bartenders, they craft cocktails and work on them like a chef works on a meal. So I like to let them make anything, a classic or something they are inventing.

I was served a very good Cosmopolitan in the slots area, and drank Sailor Jerry at the Book & Stage bar playing quarter VP....I'd say they pour high end stuff to everyone.

Both the lemon drop and mojito they serve are excellent! I'm not a huge drinker but I've been known to get a bit trashed at the Cosmo.

Free martinis and martini-like drinks (Cosmos...very good) on the casino floor as you play of course. We asked our server what they used in their cosmos and she said it was usually Belvedere or Absolut "as far as she knew"...we asked for Grey Goose and she brought it or at least said she brought it...we were too drunk and or otherwise not refined enough in general to know. :)

Tipped our server 2 or 3 bucks every time and she was ON TOP OF IT. Quick and friendly...

Playing minimum on slots, I was getting really nice drinks. I ordered a screw driver, and it came with Blood Oranges in it.

Looks like I should try Bond, though.

I can't speak about their drink service when playing, but I've never had a bad drink there. Cosmo's bars are the best in Vegas in my experience. Vesper's mixologists are amazingly talented.

This is one of the reasons why I like to gamble here. Was playing as low as $15 min table bj, and got top shelf liquor. Great atmosphere in casino as well.

I like sitting at the Stage bar, playing VP, drinking Patron Margaritas. Jenny, the bar tender said they only had top shelf.

I agree with you, they're the best drinks in Vegas. I stumbled across a favorite while checking in as I was offered one of their "specialty Cosmopolitans made with elderflower" (I think that was the flower). Mom is a real fan of Cosmos and said it was by far the best she'd ever tasted. So now what I do is hand the cocktail waitress a $5 when she comes to take my drink order and tell her what I had before and ask if they can make one of that same type. It's worked every time. She also finds me again to offer another. I have to be REAL careful though because that is the one casino where I can totally get too tipsy.
I haven't been in any of their bars but I've heard that they make that same Cosmo in the bars. Saves me a trip to the bar as it sure doesn't save me any money in the casino :evillaugh

Though I've gotten perfectly serviceable basic cocktails while gambling, I have to admit, I've been horribly disappointed by the bartenders at Cosmopolitan. My favorite drink is the Aviation, which I first discovered at Stack about seven years ago, and despite my telling them exactly how to make it, they continually screwed it up. The worst was when I told them, "Four parts gin, one part Maraschino, one part lemon juice", and instead got four parts Maraschino and a splash each of lemon juice and gin. Not good.

    The Chandelier

My wife and I stopped by The Chandelier bar at The Cosmopolitan one evening when we were in Vegas back in June and had the best time. My wife loved the lemon drop the bartender made for her. One of the other bar tenders was practicing making drinks for a bartending competition he was entering and he let us try the drink he made. Wish I could remember the name of the drink he created. Both bartenders were very friendly and we had a great time. I usually don't get drunk but he was making my drinks strong and I get pretty buzzed that night. Definitely going to head back to The Chandelier next time we go.

I LOVED hanging out at the bar at Cosmo, playing VP and trying some of the amazing drinks our bartender made for us. We told her we wanted to try something different than our usual beer, vodka and soda, etc so she asked what we liked and made a couple different drinks that were wonderful. Such a nice change from the Mirage where the bartender would not comp me vodka and redbull, despite my playing max bet VP for over and hour. I am really looking forward to going back here in a couple weeks.

The Cosmo is one of the reasons why I am returning to Vegas earlier than I planned my next trip was to be in April. Although I am staying at Ballys I guarantee most of my drinking and gambling will occur at the Cosmo before most of the strip properties except for maybe Aria, Wynn and Bellagio.
As for getting trashed, last April traveling solo I started hitting the drinks hard (Makers Mark) around 11 and by 3:30 a.m. I could not figure out how to get back to Ballys. All I remember was waking up the next morning not knowing how I got back to my room.
