    1st post!
I will be staying at the Plaza Nov 2-5 with a group of about 10. I was there last after the remodel and it had a good vibe and was fun, but now it seems things have changed. Is every BJ table 6/5 now? We usually spend a lot of time at the Golden Gate playing craps, but like to spend time playing BJ at the hotel we are staying at. Also, is the 777 club at MSS a good place to watch football? Will they let you reserve a table for a game? Thanks!

No reservations at 777. First come, first serve but they do have several large tables for groups. They have about a dozen flat panels in the bar but...they only get the standard cable, so your game choices are limited to what NFL games are being broadcast locally on Fox & CBS during the day.

    Thanks Joe!

Where would you recommend a good place for 10 packer semi-crazy fans to enjoy the game, strip or downtown? In the past we used to watch at the Golden Nugget, but it's so packed and they make you feel cheap asking for a drink ticket after wagering $100+ on a game.

The BJ tables will be 3/2(not sure if any are 6/5), but the few tables open will usually be empty, they have continuous shufflers(pointless if no ones playing), and the one time I was dumb enough to actually play last trip, the dealer(carlos), never said a single word from the time I bought in, until I left...really fun vibe huh?

Contrast that with the lively vibe right across the street at the golden gate, and elsewhere downtown, and you'll be doing your gambling elsewhere from the Plaza, if they've changed, please let us know.

Thanks, will talk to the group and check them out. I always thought the LVC would be a perfect place to actually do something sports themed there, they have the space and it would bring in a lot of people. But I guess a Jerky shop must pull more in.....

    Thanks Merlin,

If that's the case, we will be playing at the MSS for the double deck pitch.

I'm just telling you my experiences, I was there twice this year, by all means give them a try and make up your own mind. The good thing about downtown is that you can move about quickly and easily, as opposed to 20 min walks from casino to casino on the strip. have fun.

All the boyd properties tend to be lively, along with the golden gate and even the 4 queens, and the D. The plaza/lvc, the spike and binions will tend to be dead, el-cortez has excellent playing conditions but I wouldn't call it lively in any way, since the dealers tend to say nothing, and the clientel is more hard up.

I pretty much agree with the above post but Plaza had a pretty lively party pit when I was there earlier this year. I think it was 6/5 though.

I've never been to Big Dog, but I've been to at least one Packers game at Rum Runner on Tropicana in each of the last four years and I can't recommend it highly enough. Only Packers are on TV, there is a bratwurst buffet at halftime for $3 per, and the 25 oz PBRs are about $3. The 1/2# burger is about $6 or $7 (depending what you have on it) and will have you licking the drippings off the wax paper.

Agree with getting there at least 30-45 minutes early. This year we get there five minutes after kickoff, stood along the wall near the bathroom and felt like we were in the way the whole time. Here's a pic...

    Plaza room improvements

I seem to remember a while ago a post about The Plaza remodeling their rooms. How did the remodel go? Thanks.
