First off, I know Vegas is not quiet. Nor do I want it to be.

But...my wife and I are going for a whole week this time, as opposed to our normal 4 day trips. We are looking for a small place on the Strip where we could go and relax for a few hours. Would like live band, preferably country or classic rock type stuff. Any hidden gems around??

For a "young" couple in their forties, where would you good folks suggest we could find such a place?

    Hmmmm

I don't see lounges with bands as all that quiet...
We (we are also 40 somethings) like to hang out at Centrifuge in MGM or eyecandy or MIX (GREAT strip views) in Mandalay Bay. We also like Mirage's rhumbar & Wynn's Parasol Down. There are a number of ultra lounges around the strip where you can just sit & have an overpriced drink.
As far as bands, we like Ballys Indigo Lounge or Cleopatra's Barge at Caesars--but I wouldn't call either of these quiet, and not country or classic rock.

No live music, but good music and it is all also in video on screens throughout.
Sometimes they play live performance videos...maybe that counts a little. :)
But never too loud. Plus good atmosphere, nice drinks, and video poker. (Free well drinks to players)

I second both Peppermill and Mix. You should do both. You want to get to Mix fairly early though.... Between 5 and 9 I'd say.

    Thanks!!

I really appreciate all the responses. Even in my younger days, four day trips were enough. We got a heck of a deal this time and the difference was only $120 more for the extra two days, with a direct flight home. Couldn't say no to that. So this time a little bit of R&R time for a change!
