Hi everyone. Aside from the obvious choices (like Elvis and Viva Las Vegas) do you have a particular song that when you hear it, you immediate think of Las Vegas?

Mine is a strange one; PYT Pretty Young Thing by Michael Jackson. The first night I stayed downtown I watched DJ Lady a Go Go on one of the FSE stages playing this song and for whatever reason it stuck with me.

    What's your Vegas song?

    Chris

For me, it is any song from a great movie scene about Las Vegas:

"With Plenty of Money and You" by Tony Bennett (from "Swingers")
"Ain't That a Kick in the Head" by Dean Martin (from "Vegas Vacation")
"Joker and the Thief" by Wolfmother (from "The Hangover")

I'm the same about films. So when I hear The Animals, I think of Vegas thanks to Casino

I’m kind of the same way with late 60’s – early 70’s Rolling Stones songs. There are about a dozen of them in that movie.

In fact, I’ve noticed that as the plane nears Vegas – usually around the Grand Canyon – I almost always put on “Exile On Main Street” or “Sticky Fingers”…gets me ready for Vegas.

On the way to Vegas we listen to SiriusXM 50's ALL the way! Now after several trips all the 50's songs sound like VEGAS and I gravitate westward if I hear Frankie V and the Four Seasons! I seriously love the Sinatra Channel too because they play some Dean Martin along with The Chairman.

"Shattered" by OAR (a.k.a. "Turn the Car Around"); I heard it for the first time inside the Miracle Mile shops @ Planet Ho now it always evokes Vegas for me!

Very true. I guess I just make other connectiosn to the Stones. But with House of the Rising Sun providing the closing montage to Casino, I always think of those scenes (the agents coming to Ace's front door) as soon as I hear the first chord of the song

Two completely random ones -- "Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry, and "Stuck Like Glue" by Sugarland. I spent a weekend at a pretty intense bachelor party a couple years ago, and since the wedding was the next weekend in California, I decided to sleep off my hangover at Mirage for a week instead of flying back to New York and then out to California. They played the two of those songs in pretty heavy rotation at the Mirage pool, for some reason.

My most vivid music association with Vegas is unfortunately a negative one. Celine Dion singing the Titanic iconic song, "Near, Far..." (I think that's the title).

The first trip to Vegas, that song was playing at the Bellagio fountains every time I went past it. To this day, when I'm in Vegas and see those fountains I instantly think of that song. Celine Dion is one of my least favorite entertainers (?) of all time and I hate that she has left me with that image.

This past summer when I was there for about two weeks, the music that made the most sense to me while driving around town was 80's hair metal.

I would love to say Sinatra of rat pack jazz, but driving around there during the day in off strip neighborhoods was 80's hair metal like Van Halen and Ratt.

I'm sure if I listened to rap music that would also make sense. As a tourist Sinatra is really what works best even better than Elvis.

Panama will take you down any Boulevard anytime of the day.

Anytime I hear any rendition of Funiculì, Funiculà, anywhere, it always reminds me of waiting for bags at McCarran and that endless-loop ad for the Venetian (??) that runs there.

There are two songs and they are kind of random

one is a charlotte church song it was playing for the water fountain show 10 yrs ago when my husband and i get engaged at the top of the eifel tower.

the other is someone like me Adele. It played every hour out by the pool at golden nugget last oct. The pit boss kept saying he hated that song

Last night driving home One Particular Harbor by Jimmy Buffett live started playing. I cranked it up, started singing along and couldn't help but think about Vegas and being at his concert. Next week can't come soon enough.

Two months ago we were watching TV one evening in our penthouse suite at the IP. Carly Rae Jepsen and Owl City performed "Good Time". I had never heard it before and liked it instantly. It's upbeat and catchy. Now every time it's on the radio I always remember where I was the first time I heard it and it brings back happy memories.

For me the #1 vegas reminder song is the opening theme from the show "Las Vegas". I think its Elvis' "A Little Less Conversation". Obviously the show is about Las Vegas so its a given but it always seems anytime we turn on the TV while we are in Vegas that show is on TNT. And I'm like a Pavlov dog because everytime I hear that song I first think of the boobs that flash by in the opening montage and then I think of Vegas itself.

Also, last time we were in vegas there were a handfull of catchy top 40 songs in heavy rotation everwhere we went so they've been reminding me of Vegas to. Matter of fact a few times in recent memory we turned on the Vegas hits/top 40 station on IheartRadio to get our fix.

Also some of the Sinatra & Rat Pack songs make me instantly picture the fountains

Oh, and the song from the end of the Cloony Oceans 11 (haven't seen the original so not sure if its there to). I'm flexing my slightly out of shape music degree muscles to remember the title...I can hear it, I think its Ravelle....is it "La Mer"? Ok, I'll go look it up. OMG, I was so off. It was DeBussy's "Claire de Lune"....I suck.
