I will be heading out to Vegas in the early spring. I was looking at Vegas on the satellite from google. I see there is a Klondikes on Sunset, A Roadhouse Casino on Boulder, Jokers Wild Etc....These seem to have better payouts and OLDER machines like Boom, Winning Bid, Off the Charts etc.... Have any of you ever visited these "out of the way" places and any others?? I'm looking for the older machines--I do much better for some reason. I'm sure no one on the strip would--maybe downtown???? I did hear Bayou downtown has them.

Roadhouse and Klondike are real dives. Joker's Wild is a break in house for Boyd properties. Across Boulder Hwy is Skyline Casino. Majority of slots there are coin in/out. Many only take quarters. I visit when I'm feeling nostaglic. If you head out that way check out the casinos on Water St in old Henderson. I also like Club Fortune a bit further out. Newer games, but low limit tables and full pay VP.

If you have a car and the time, I'd check some places out. I liked Jokers Wild. Also stopped at Gold Rush or something on the way back to the strip. It was something...

    Is Roadhouse open again?

It was very much closed a few years back.

For an Old Vegas feel, try Jerry's Nugget in North Las Vegas. Old Vegas prices in the restaurant too!

Someone mentioned the Gold Rush. This was a small casino and restaurant on Sunset Rd. near Sunset Station. It was recently totally remodeled by Station Casinos and renamed Wildfire Sunset.

my girlfriends first "big" win was $50 on a single penny line bet at Fiesta Henderson.

after she cashed out the same machine was being nice and she won another $45 on 3 different bets with the same $5

    I just looooove the Skyline.

If you liked the 1960's, you'll love it, too.

Excellent restaurant w/ specials + old school vibe.

Definitely fills the bill for both older and out of the way!

    Two thumbs up!

It is still there, along with the Silver Nugget and Lucky Club. They are all 3 definately older, seedier casinos. Went once to check them out, nothing to go back for.

The Skyline also has a pretty good ham and eggs breakfast.

The Klondike is most definitely a dive. Think of the rinky dinkiest dive bar you've ever been to, and add a roulette table, and a few slot machines and you'll have The Klondike.

Just keep in mind the Klondike no longer has table games of any sort.

Ditto on Jerry's nugget and jokers wild those are cant miss for what you seek.

    Roadhouse is closed.

    Gotta love coin droppers!

    Almost forgot about Jokers Wild.

Anybody else remember when it was the Cattle Baron? :)

Aztec!! Twice we've wandered in there in the wee hours of the morning and gotten comped a whole mess of beer for betting 5 cents on VP at the bar. Ate there once too, was decent.
