Booking with a dining credit

This is my first time booking an offer with a dining credit.

Have a reservation for Monte Carlo booked for December with a $50 dining credit. Now I know you can charge any MGM prop to my room and use EC to pay...but what about when you book a dining credit offer? Does the dining have to be at MC or can I go to NYNY and charge it to my room and they will apply the dining credit at checkout?

 

All of the times that I've had a "dining credit" it was only taken off charges to that property.

 

those dining credits are only good at the property you're staying at. however, they can take off charges from any property based on your play. but to be sure it's taken care of, you'll want to charge at least $50 from MC.

 

$50 - not hard to spend that,for sure. But, they do expect it to be at THEIR hotel, since they are the ones "bribing" you to stay and play there.

 

Thanks all, glad I asked. I am generally a CET player...but we wanted a change for this trip. Looks like the Big Belly Buffet or the Pub for dinner our first night. Won't be hard to spend $50 for the 2 of us. Since I am paying for the room I would normally use any ECs I accumulate to take off the bill at checkout. We are not high enough on the food chain for discretionary comps.

 

Tammy, are you booking the lowest price room, strip view, or "high floor"?

If they have this offer next year I might consider staying here for a change.

 

Candy Apple, booked a Diamond Suite...we are getting too old for standard rooms, we actually spend 12 hours in the room. Getting too old Being the cheapest week of the year it was a good deal (for a 2 room suite) $116/night plus resort fee and tax (and a $50 dining credit). I will take a 2 room suite for under $150 any day of the week. From my investigation, all of the Diamonds are on higher floors facing the sides and back. We like playing there and wanted a change. When you get older "different" things matter to you....sofa, 1.5 bathrooms, food court, calmer casino atmosphere.

 

A word about the dining credit...

I stayed at Vdara 2 weeks ago and had booked with a $75 credit. When you check in make sure that you mention that you had booked with the credit. They didn't even mention it to me when I checked in. I was talking with some other guests one night at the bar and apparently this was their second time booking with a credit and it seems like they always conveniently "forget" to mention it when checking in.

Anyways, since it was Vdara and they don't have a ton of places to eat you could also use it at Aria but only at certain places. Upon mentioning it to the front desk at Vdara they gave me a little card with the places I could eat at charge it back to the room. So as others have mentioned, it is only places at your property, that are on the little card they give you at check in.

 

Oooh, nice. We spend half the time in our room as well.

It was a nice treat when we were given the Penthouse Suite at the IP because Bill's overbooked. The furniture was old but it was still huge.

 

Thank you chrisn42...I probably would have forgotten to mention it at checkin. One thing I learned years ago is to always carry a printout of all confirmations with me.
