    My Trip Report

This trip was my husbands first trip to Vegas. We drove from Sacramento, spend the night 9/25 in Barstow and arrived in Vegas about noon on the 26th. I had been recently contacted by my first host and I took his offer up when he said let me help you with your trip. We had a grand suite waiting. I was using the offer I received in the tr mag for 5 free nights, 500 cash, and 100 food.
I gave my husband 1000 and I had about double that to start.
I played all kinds of machines, had some very good hits including a 500.00 hit on The glinda bonus with Ruby Slippers. I played alot of cards 3 card poker mostly receiving several of the 6 card bonuses including one fo 4 of a kind. I started the trip with 6033 tier score and ended with 11,231 so I made diamond. I had one really good day that included great line hits, the 4 of a kind, and I bet $2.00 on a 5 spot keno ticket and won 1000. I played the same ticket an hour later at the Flamingo and hit 4 of the numbers. That same day we walked over to the Cosmo to take advantage of there play 100 get a 100 offer. When I loaded the 100 I was sitting at a 25 cent Da Vinci Diamond machine and managed to take that up to 400. That was a very good day! My husband got royal flush for 1000. It was a good trip! The notes I made were......driving to Vegas is ok as you have alot to look forward to, driving home sucks! And as much as my husband dislikes flying after being in a car with me for that long while I honed my back seat driver skills, I think he would fly anywhere now!

Those are some nice wins! Did you manage to bring home a profit overall?

We actually did come home with a profit. I did not mention that I had put up my daughter and her bf at the Flamingo and paid pretty much for their food and a few donations for playing. We came home with 1000 over what we started with.

Since living in Sacramento, do you go to the local casinos?

I love Red Hawk! For vp players they have much better paytables than Thunder Valley. The casino is much smaller but has no smoking downstairs. My cousin who lives in Granite Bay goes all of the time to both.

I'll actually be going next week since we'll be going to a birthday party at Ruth Chris in Roseville.

I know it's not LV but for me to get my gamble on the games are fair.

*I thought this was weird. I hadn't been to Red Hawk in such a long time their offers of fp were going up. I bit at $80 a week. I couldn't wait for my Oct offers to come since I went a few times cycling lots of $$'s in $1vp. Well, I guess their marketing dept figures you took the bait, got you playing there again, lowered the fp, yes, lowered to $20 a week. Wow, I thought my cousin was kidding when she said all she got was $30 a week and she's at their highest tier. I was going to show them and not play at all in Oct. but since I'll be up there next week, not sure. Maybe I'll just pop into Thunder Valley since we'll be right there.

I like Red Hawk better too. 2011 they saw alot of me and I quickly made platinum and my freeplay was about 50 per week. I played in one of the senior tournaments last fall and won 500 in freeplay. Overall my losses definetly outway my winnings although I did win 1000 on jackpot 7's machine and have a few 500 hits on various others.
We are thinking of making an overnight trip to tahoe this weekend to stay at Harvey's. Tahoe used to be my destination of choice but as we all know the Indian casinos have really made things up there change.
Since I have managed 3 trips to vegas in past 12 months and stayed for 4 days, 3 days, and 5 days I like those trips better. Most people, me included usually have cycles in their trips...I loose some, then somehow it turns around and I start winning. When I only go for a few hours its hard to get the winning cycle timed right. I win more staying longer.

I had the same offer as you for LV but never made it.

The offers for Reno and Lake Tahoe are no where as good as Las Vegas. Maybe if the offers were better they would be busier. Room offers are very generous but if they would offer more cash incentive, I'm sure that would draw more players.

The tr magazine that came out at the end of May had the coupons for that offer in the back. I had read that they randomly picked people to send it to. What also helped me reach diamond status was last month I received an email that said they were giving me 1000 tier points. I read on another forum that other people got the email as well, and some got 1500 points. Last year each member of my family each got 45000 rc points for participating in the great escape promo, and this spring with the other game Caesar's had I think my husband and I each earned 75.00 in rc points. Heading out for a casino trip knowing your only expense is the gambling is such incentive.
I also agree about Tahoe...60.00 free play highest offer I have received. We will be staying there Saturday night. Harvey's premium view room.

Glad you had a great trip! Was the grand suite in the north or south tower? Just wondered what you thought of it and if there was a view of much? We have thought of staying in this but haven't heard alot about it.

Nice trip. We were also at Ballys form 9/26 through 10/3. Spent much time at the pool since the weather was nice. We got an upgrade to the north tower 22nd floor from the original ST, no extra charge. Did you notice the location changes of the slots on the floor? Though we hardly spent that much of gambling money at Ballys I looked at a Christmas trip and can stay 7 nights for $24. 5 nights comped weekend $12/night.

our grande suite was in the north tower at the very end of the hallway on the 22nd floor. The room itself was a little dated but extremely clean. We only spent an hour or so each day awake in the room so it was more than fine. It had the marble step up bathroom area with the sunken jaccuzi tub. We have one at home so the only time I used it was to fill it with enought cold water to soak my sore feet in it! It had the separate vanity areas for him/her, the shower, closet bidet, and closet toilet. We stayed at Bally's after a huge mix up in 10/2011 when we had 16 people that were supposed to stay at the Paris and we ran into problems. Bally's took us in, provided us great rooms next to each other at great prices so it became my hotel of choice. My previous trips had always included stays at Flamingo but I much prefer the pace at Bally's. The music is not as loud not as many 20 somethings around.

jameezy - regarding your question about the drive......my grandchildren live in Phoenix, so I have made that drive many times...pretty much the same way, 99 to 58, then to 40 and into phoenix on 93...I have done it in about 12 hours. When you drive to vegas you have your trip to look forward to which really helps. We did not want to get into Vegas after a long drive so opted to stay in Barstow and drive a couple hours in the morning to Vegas. That was a great idea we were not tired at all, and I did not feel like I needed to immediately go take a shower when I arrived. As far as the drive home...tired, disappointed that we had to leave and that our good time was done. It was long, lots of traffic and construction, even though we returned on a Monday. Flying is much easier!
