If you were to go and bet $1000 per hand and win one hand, then leave in baccarat. Should you give the casino you players card to get comps? Are hit and runs viewed negatively from the casino in Las Vegas?

If you are just playing the one hand, that barely give them enough time to get you setup in their system. I would think they would be more upset that you wasted their time.

If you are going to play just one high limit hand then you generally wouldn't give them your player card: you are just wasting their time and the hand would likely be over before they had your information entered.

As for hit and runs: there are multiple answers that question...

The casinos themselves don't like hit and runs, but you aren't interacting with the casino as a whole, instead you are dealing with the people on the floor who work for the casino, but have no vested interest in the outcome of your wager(s).

To the people on the casino floor obviously its going to be different from person to person from casino to casino, but in general they won't really care if you are playing one hand or going to sit there all night.

You might irritate them if you do some kind of ****** bag move that you think is funny but really just wastes their time, like show up to play a single $1000 hand and try to buy in with all $1s and $5s, or make a big deal of buying in to a table with a couple of hundred dollar bills and asking for it all in $5 chips and then playing one hand and leaving.

Playing Pai Gow at MGM Vegas. Guy buys in for a grand and is playing 500 a hand and no bonus. after several pushes a host shows up and is offering all kinds of stuff. Ask room number to comp it and offering food. Don't know players history but sure impressed me.

The Critter will probably "ask" you for your card under the premise that you will be rated for it, but in reality he/she just wants to know who took their $1,000 to report it to the shift. Especially if you buy in with cash, for title 31 tracking.

1 hand will not earn you a thing for comps, I promise. But at $1,000 a hand, the critter will probably want to know who you are. (With the exception of the really big joints that sneeze at $1,000)

And no one cares about hit and runs. You are still in their casino, and 99.9% of the time...that money is headed back into play.

If you are only to play for a hand or even a few minutes, giving them a cardcan only hurt. Whenever I just decide to spend a few minutes at BJ - I do not give them my card.

Believe it or not, many people do not have, nor do they want a players card.

I'm not really sure why you bwould even consider giving them your card if you're only planning to play one hand. I mean, you cannot expect anything by way of comps (which is the primary purpose of the card) for sixty seconds of play

I would suspect you would get better comps by betting $100/hand with a $1000 bankroll than a single $1000 bet.

I was at a craps table at the mirage when this happened. A guy came and dumped $4000 on the pass line. He lost and left.

The single hand bet gets you zero comps. I can see in a low end, old school joint that the pit might write you a buffet comp out of sympathy if you lost. (Of course such a place would not even offer baccarat so you would have to do this at another game.) Presuming a $1000 bet is outside your usual comfort zone, Baccarat is the game to do it at, though, since @ BJ you might have to double or split (or both) and at craps you might have to take odds. At roulette the HA is just too high to even bother.

In a mid-higher end place on the strip (practically anywhere baccarat is even offered) the play will not get a second glance. The single bet strategy can win money but will absolutely not generate comps.

This happens all the time in HL - you'll be sitting at a baccarat table, maybe the shoe is streaky - suddenly someone will be passing by, read the display, and decide to slap down a couple grand hoping to hop on the streak - and if it breaks, they take off, all without ever giving anyone their players cards.

Same thing with roulette - someone who's not a regular roulette player might walk by & see a lucky number or red or black is coming out a lot, play for a spin or two just to see if they get lucky, and walk off. Nobody bats an eyelash, even if you're talking several thousand dollars or more being lost in one or two hands or spins.
