On another BJ thread someone posted "The pit at Bellagio immediately outside Club Prive went to all H17 about 6 months ago."

Can someone who has played at Bellagio recently confirm or deny this. I have my doubts because I think the change would have been reported wider. Also, someone on Vegas Tripping who keeps tabs on these things reported today that "Good blackjack conditions with $25 minimums readily available" at Bellagio.

I know there is plenty of H17 at Bellagio but it's the pit just past the Baccarat Bar, outside Club Prive, that I am interested in.

If you want stay on S17 you have to go into Prive or right beside the players club. The section between B-Bar and Prive is now hit but is still a hand shuffle - I think 7 decks?

I think the shoe dealt, hand shuffled games at Bellagio are 6 deck. I have not been to Bellagio since January. The pit outside the host office had around 8 tables, probably 6 DD and 2 shoe games. There was usually one or two tables at $50 minimum with the rest at $100 or higher (with variations for time of day etc).

Are you saying that is all the good BJ that is left at Bellagio, outside of the HL rooms? Ouch! It certainly does not tally with the "Good blackjack conditions with $25 minimums readily available" comment I quoted.

I'm not sure you can find a $25 table anywhere on the strip anymore that offers S17, RSA, DaS and surrender. If that's out there, I'd definitely like to know where. I'd settle for a $50 table. I know you can find H17 with all the other good rules, for about a .6% HA...that's available at most of the MGM properties for $25 or even $10. So maybe 'good conditions' are relative.

I'm pretty sure the MGM Grand has tables with those rules at the $25 level, or at least did in July when I was there.

I didn’t make it Bellagio last month, but in July they still had S17 games on the main floor with the usual minimums ($50-100+ for DD and $25-50+ for shoe). CBJN’s September issue reports the table mix to be identical to what it was back in July, FWIW.

If you played it, then I believe it. But that wizard page is WAY out of date. That $25 game doesn't exist at the Monte Carlo anymore, for example.

I’ve not played them, but I have seen $25 6D, S17, DAS, RSA, LS games at MGM (most recently in April), Bellagio (July) and Wynn (September) – during the day of course. Heck, the one at Wynn last month sat empty the entire time I was playing at a nearby table. After I left the table and made my way through the casino, I saw several occupied H17 $25 tables. :rolleyes2: If only my customers cared so little about prices...

But you’re absolutely right about The Wizard’s survey. It is woefully out of date.

You will be playing at the hosts entrance if you want Stay on S17 unless you like Prive of HL - I like to people watch and like the gang in the host area pit. I was there a few weeks ago and there was maybe one of two 50.00 tables and there was more than 2 "shoe" tables working - I think four.

Thanks everyone. I will check it out for myself in 11 days.:licklips:

If the best games at Bellagio are now $50 up then it is probably only a matter of time before Aria, MGM and Mirage follow suit (and it seems there are already only one or two tables at Mirage). I wonder if the day will come when the only S17 games are in the HL rooms.

I usually do not mind a $50 or $100 minimum table but that often means playing alone. $25 tables are acceptable to more players and can offer a change from the one-to-one with the dealer experience.

I'm feeling less inclined to give Bellagio my play next trip, when I am staying at Caesars. I'll have to think about it. Perhaps I should just head for the Caesars HL room but I do like my DD game.

I agree 100%. When I play the best rules, I often find I'm alone, which sometimes I like but usually I don't.

You don't get credit for playing alone at a faster pace. All casino's want to keep that little perk to themselves. Now if it were the other way around, they would be sending out notices decreasing your rate like they did on certain slots.

    Maybe this will change that.

Tubbs, I was there in June and back again mid September. The two pits on each side of the walkway on the floor that traditionally were s17, usually at $100 with DD on the east side also, now only the east side pit is the s17 .26 game. They had DD there for $100. No s17 DD of course.
The s17 games were $25 during the AM and early daytime.
And I found lots of $25 s17 games at MGM props.
Try BJ21.com, Stanford Wongs site. It is more up to date than Shackleford's Wiz site.

I was the one who originally posted this. I can assure you it is correct. The tables are usually $25 min and they are still full as most players don't notice the difference.

Yes, S17 is more prevelant in MGM world than in CET land, but once again the only S17 at Bellagio on the floor is now in the pit in front of the host's office, and most of the tables are $100 anyway in the evening.

I was there 3 weeks ago in mid-September. I usually play at the pit outside the host's office and the DD games were definitely S17. Pretty sure it was the same for the shoe games there. Most of the dealers who I'm familiar with told me that things were still slow and that was reflected in the evening minimums - $50 for the DD and $25 for the shoe.
