I have been reading all of these threads on comps. I don't think any of the casinos have any idea. I am hearing many who play WAY more money than I do and get squat for comps. I got a host after my last trip to Vegas, with only a daily BR of $300 playing penny slots. She is comping me 5 nights in Octavius tower with the last two only $95 a night. She left me a message this weekend that she will be sending a limo to pick me up at the airport. I do play for 4-6 hours, sometimes max bet, sometimes not. Maybe it is because I usually put what I win back thru the machine. IDK. I am gonna run with it. I go on October 9th. I will let you all know how it goes. I am currently trying to get the BF to charge meals to the room to see if she will comp any of it. He pays cash for EVERYTHING, and it is an uphill battle. He should listen to me, without me he would still be staying at the IP!:cheers::cheers::cheers:

The casinos have plenty of ideas.

One of these is--someone playing penny slots for 4-6 hours a day, facing a 10% house advantage on every spin--is someone they want to be there.

They don't, however, necessarily know you are only willing to lose $300/day, so enjoy the comps with limited risk!

I am a microroller but my friend likes to max bet on slots. I trained her from the get-go to always use the player's card and to charge everything to the room (after reading tons of posts here). She was Gold Mlife within two days and when we saw them before checking out, they comped the meals and resort fees. We were given a host as we expect to return within a few months. We also redeemed our pointplay. Our trip package included 75 F & B as well as shuttle both ways, so really we had a bunch of great deals in LV. I kept remembering forum members advice to "not chase comps" but kept in mind that it is just a nice reward (with your own money)!

Not the MGM. Then again, I think their IT department doubles as their player development team due to cut backs.

Charge to the room. Let him know he is welcome to pay cash upon checking out.

Unless of course you get stuff comped.. or use your reward credits.

(yes, use cash for the tips though)

For the casino, its not about how much you're willing to risk, its about how much you are expected to lose.

And for slots in particular, they really have no idea what the max is you'd be willing to lose. They just know how much you cycled through the machine. If you put in 5 bucks but had an early couple jackpots, and played it for 6 hours, you'd get great offers.

The offers particularly might not represent the player the first time you get one from a property. The more you visit the more accurate picture they'll get what you're actually worth. In one trip, your $300 could be gone with minimal coin in, and on the other, you could play it 6 hours a day for a week.

But if you have an established history of losses of a certain amount, I think they take that into consideration. I feel like my host does, anyway.

    Well, yes.

But the more established your history, the closer your 'theoretical' and actual losses will usually be, anyway.

Usually, but only over many, many visits. For my last 4 trips my actual losses have crushed my theoretical losses on 3 of the 4. So even if you run at theo for several trips, as long as you've got one or two where you took a certain size real loss, I think you establish that you're willing to lose at least a certain amount.

In one visit, I don't think it matters. For example, if you are going for your first trip, hit a royal on your first hand, and then keep winning and you put in way more play than you intended because you're on a heater, you'll generate a ton of comps off of that. But if you go the next trip, lose $400 right away and barely gamble, your offers are going to absolutely disappear -- because the casino is going to see it for exactly what it is.

OK then seems they want us there and we are that player especially DW who plays 90% penny slots and we have gotten comps the last three trips and one on the way. CET on the other hand has offered squat and not for lack of play at those properties.

Well we allways stay at Harrahs properties. This will be my 7th trip out in the last three years. Bi-annually the last two years. The last four trips my BR has been pretty consistant. I did spread my money around a little more at other properties those trips though. (NYNY, TI) This trip I will concentrate on my home property to keep the comps comming. Does anyone know though, can I play at other Harrahs properties or should I keep it all at Caesars? I am sure that my host will want me to keep it all at her casino, better for her.

Just really curious--when you say you got a host this trip did someone come up to you or did you ask to talk to a host?
Why I am asking is there seems to be no set rules on this as I have been in some CET propertys and a host will come up to greet you and give you a card but in others you just don't get a hosts attention regardless of what you are playing and have always wondered about this

I did nothing. We checked out at Caesars and went back to the room to get our luggage. There was a message on our phone from her "making sure our stay was wonderful". I then got an e-mail from her two weeks later with a comp offer. It all went from there.
