What type of offers can a long session slot player receive/expect?

I have a budget of about $500 a day for slots, I will be in Vegas for 3 days. If I concentrated all this play at Wynn this time I am out there, can anyone give me an idea of what kind of offers I could expect for the next time there?

I did some remedial calcs and I think with a 90% expected return every time I cycle through the money I could put $15,000 through the machines and rack up about 10,000 Red Card points. That has to be worth something to them, but any idea how much? (Note: This may be way off, I don't know exactly how to calc this stuff).

Thanks for any insight. I have been to Vegas a few times but never really cared about comps because I was jumping all over the place. However, I think Wynn has a really nice slot atmosphere due to the selection of machines, good drink service, and overall casino atmosphere.

My other question: should I call them ahead of time and see if I can get something free for this trip?

There is no guarantee you will get 90% back in repeated play. You could put the whole $500 in and end up with $750 through the machine. However, just playing there will get you on the mailing list from your Red Card. You might get a free day every now and then casino rates on rooms. As far as calling ahead for something in an up front comp, it won't happen.

I fully understand the random variation of gambling and that accumulating points is not guaranteed but you would think a real loss or ADT of $500 per day would generate some type of offer better than a occasional mailing. Maybe not from Wynn, I guess.

    Thank you for the response.

A real loss of $500 would definitely generate something...but you hit it, just maybe not from wynn.

If your goal is to generate comps, I'd be looking toward a mid tier property, given your stated plan of how you intend to play.

Thanks for the info. Any recommendations among CET or MLife properties? Tropicana?

Any additional insight is appreciated. Thanks.

The trop has been sending me offers for much less play than what you could potentially do. They're kind of on a comp kick right now trying to hook new clients, I think. Plus you can get $200 in loss rebate (meaning if you play and lose $200, they give you back $100 in free play that day and $50 the next two days...so it's pretty much free to try.)

For MGM properties if you're playing slots, they're about to get worse (on 1 October) in how they give express comps, but there's not really any sure information out there on how it affects offers. If you did manage to get 15,000 coin in over a couple of days, you could expect offers from the mid tier MGM properties and reduced prices from the high end properties, I think. With the MGM properties you have to watch out for 'specialty slots' which pay a lot less in tier credits and comps.

If I was there trying to generate comps, I'd play at the hotel I wanted to stay at next trip. It used to be that you'd get corporate offers, so you could play at any MGM property and you'd see offers from all. Lately, it's been more property specific.

If I was just starting out with MGM, I'd probably walk through MGM, NYNY, and Monte Carlo -- because they are all right next to each other and all 'mid tier' -- and decide which one I liked the best. Then I'd sit down and play at that property.

MGM is usually pretty good on their first offer, too. So if you played at a property the first day and got in a lot of play, you might not even want to play MGM properties the next day. Because playing a certain amount one day could get you the same, or even better offer than if you played there 3 straight days if you didn't play as much the second and third day (because they're going to average your play over the number of days.)

I don't play CET right now, so I can't help.

$500 loss a day is not going to get anything great. Have done that and more at casinos and barely get a room.

Though your calc about coin in sort of makes sense, it is not going to happen. That 90% payback is over a very long hall. If you were playing a machine where the max payout was maybe $100, you would have a better chance at that sort of coin in. It can pay back and still be able to gather the 10% hold.

Said another way, a machine with $10,000 jackpot would need to take in OVER $10,000 to balance itself out. So, somebody playing $500 in it would most times walk away with nothing.

    From my experience . . .

    ------------
$500 a day will get you virtually NOTHING from Wynn, other than the fun (if you enjoy the place) of the time spent there.

$500 a day cycled through Tropicana will pretty much cement you as their friend and you'll be welcomed back (standard room comp).

Play that same amount through a CET property and you'll be looking at a wider range of options, just because of the portfolio of properties they have. It'll open some doors for you at Bally, Harrahs, etc.

If your goal is offers/ free nights for future stays I would recommend playing Trop if you like it, or whatever CET you enjoy.

We budget $600 day playing on the same card. Only gets me IP, Harrahs, Bally's Rio offers from CET. Occasional 2 night offers from MGM, Golden Nugget, Eastside Cannery, Gold Coast. $129 night offers from Wynn and V/P.

I love the people who talk about slot %. I played the $100 offer at cosmo and won $5 total out of my $100...so I received a 5% payback in that shortrun.

Again, Thanks for the info everyone. I will definitely be hitting up the $200 offer at the Trop and the $100 offer at Cosmopolitan, if that is still going on next week. Then I guess I'll check out the mid level mlife and cet properties. What I am mostly looking for are free rooms for my next stay, I try to go about 2-3 times per year and the free room would help make each trip more affordable and free up more money for gambling. I really appreciate all the advice.

Check the Riviera too! I'm not sure what offers they have now but they had some stellar deals on reimbursing new signups for up to $500 of losses.

    CET Property's

It definitely depends on the coin in you can get with that $500.
My daily BR is $500-800.when I was giving $2,500-3,000 coin-in a day my offers from CET were, any property comped except Caesars and PH on weekends, and $100 FP/gift card offers.I now average around $4,000-5,000 coin in and now every prop is comped anytime and the FP/gift card offers are now $300.
    Hope that helps.

You're not going to get anything significant from the Wynn on a $500/day loss except for some discounted offers. Multiply that by 4 and you will get some free rooms.

Thank you, that's great info since it is right in my BR range. Hopefully I'll be able to start stepping it up to $800-$1000 in the next few years.

What games and limits are you playing with that bank roll?

I just returned and here are some numbers to show your numbers may a bit unrealistic. Doable with some luck but more than likely would need a larger bank roll.

Based on Total Rewards it is $5 per credit and I accumulated just over 2000 points for a 4 day/3 night stay. The majority of the stay was spent on the machines. Usually the penny machine doing max bets and some $1 machines with max bets as well.
Two of my biggest wins were $800 and $600. For the trip I was still down about 2K. At the Wynn I am sure 2000 points wouldn't get a 2nd look.
I would have had to play the $5 machines 24x7 to come close to the 10,000 points. At the $5 machines, $500 would not last long enough.

Wynn and Tropicana are only $1.50 per point, so that changes things a bit, more like 7,000 points there. The 10,000 is admittedly a best case scenario.

Also, I should have been a little clearer, my goal is to get offers for a free room at a decent hotel on the strip for my next stay after this one. Sounds like the Trop or low level CET are the properties I should be hitting, not Wynn.

i just got back from a 6 night stay, 3 at Mirage followed by 3 nights at Caesars. I just received an e-mail from an MGM Host offering me a comp stay at any of their properties. Nothing yet from Caesars. My bank roll was about $500/day playing penny slots and some 3 card and LIR ($5-$10, not rated at MGM but rated at Caesars). I also just received a mailer from Bellagio offerring 3 nights, $275 free play and $100 food and beverage). I'd love to take them up on the offer but convincing the wife may be another thing. She's an avid sun and pool worshipper!!!
