I played at the Beau in August (1st time maybe 12K pts)

A few days ago a newsletter showed up in the mail with a comp to the MGM Grand( no options listed just MGM.

    Offer includes:
    $700 Freeplay
Comp Suite up to 4 nights
    $250 F&B
    2 tickets to Cirque's LOVE

    Questions are:

Is type of offer pretty general ( carrot stick, so to speak) for new players?

Could I get this changed to possibly Mirage or MC and get a nicer room, more FP and higher F&B? MGM is just so damn big( from what I read)

What type of suite should I ask for, that would require the least walking to get from the room to the floor to the taxi stand?

Is LOVE worth going too? (35yo-FYI)

Whats a good foodie restaurant to use the F&B up in? If bill is more that's ok...

    Any other thoughts?

    Thank you

Generally speaking, if you got that offer, you can call a host at another MGM property and they'll give you something similar. Not likely you'll get more FP and F&B at the two properties you mentioned since they're really in the same tier as MGM.

Depending on your level of play, you might get the MC people to give you a room in Hotel 32, which would be a step up, depending on the type of suite you're getting at MGM.

If you're in the MGM and you want a foodie restaurant, Joel Robuchon is the definitive answer. Craftsteak is very good as well, but less 'foodie' IMO.

LOVE is definitely worth it imho. I am 5 years younger than you and thoroughly enjoyed it.

you can always try calling one of the other properties and telling them what MGM has offered you and see if they will match it. they may or may not.

as far as MGM, it's big, but it's really not that bad. the type of suite will be determined by your level of play. you won't get a choice. it will likely be a base level suite like an executive king/queen. all the elevators are in the same place, so no suite in particular requires more or less walking than another. but they do have pretty long halls, so you could ask for a room near the elevators if you want.

    Great offer. Grab it.

Yes, you can call other MGM properties, and you might get something close.

MGM is not that bad. And, you have NYNY right across the street.

There are a ton of restaurants at MGM. Check out their website for alist and menus.

typical offer? so hard to say. After we played a bunch at Beau Rivage, we got offers for Bellagio.

MGM Grand is MUCH better then MC....and it's not that big...plus they have redone almost all the rooms and many other areas of the hotel/casino.....but GRAB that offer...MGM properties have been know to discontinue those offers very quickly.....BOOK NOW and you can either reschedule it or cancel it later.

If you do call MGM and get a chance, ask for the spa suite. My wife really liked that room. It's not quite their lowest end suite, but it's not far above the baseline and might be available since you appear to have a better than baseline offer.

I appreciate all the input from everyone..
    Last question?

What is the most +EV game to play the Freeplay, I believe it's one and done even if you win...try to find a good string on baccarat, BJ, roulette? I don't play VP.

These are the words of someone who has never stayed in Hotel 32. The standard rooms are better at MGM, but unless you're a skyloft level player (which in this thread, the OP isn't) then the hotel 32 option at MC is likely nicer than what he'll get at MGM. I say this having stayed a few times at each.

Spa suite at MGM > Spa suite at MC, but not by a huge amount.

Usually your freeplay is going to be machine, not table. You could ask your host for comp chips in place of freeplay, and you might get it.
