Hey everyone, just had a question about checking in at Planet Hollywood. If my gf arrives in Vegas before me can she check in without me being there? I booked the room under my name but told them here name too. She would be there at 11am and I wont be there until 2pm.

I also have a platinum card so I have 4 nights comped and want my gf to do the sandwich trick when she arrives. Has people had goodluck at Planet Hollywood on getting the upgrade?

For some reason I thought this was going to be about a suspicious check that you wanted to cash

I would be VERY surprised if they let her check in without you if it's booked under your name and she's just a guest, almost guaranteed not to happen. I'm sure theres a multitude of reasons, but otherwise you could have a buddy who gets comped all the time booking rooms for friends to stay in and he would never even have to show up.

She won't be able to check-in, so have her leave her bags with the bellhop. She should keep her cash with her if she does this. Then tell her to go play slots for a bit until you arrive.

Never tried the $20 trick there, I just use my charm for that!

If the comp is under your name, they definitely won't give her the room before you arrive.

I've $20 tricked there before and got a larger room with an incredible view! Definitely the best view from a room I've had, until later that trip.....
The hot water in our room at PH wasn't working properly (would take 20 mins+ to heat up).. so I called down and asked for it to be looked at...) - after 3 nights of no changes and I went down and asked what was going on, they put me in a Panoramic Suite for my last night..... that was incredible!! :|

While I probably agree with the other posters, why don't you call PH and ask them about it? Also if you are getting the rooms as a comp you could ask a host about it? Or even putting your gf's name on the booking so she can check in?

I would think that since the comp is under your name you may be required to be there to get the comped room. Otherwise what guarantee does the hotel have that you are actually staying there? You could give the comp to someone else when PH expects you to be there.

Anyway, that's JMHO so maybe best to ask PH yourself and see what they say. As for the upgrades, you can google or check the forum to see the success rate at the PH.

One thing most of my previous posters overlooked is you said your GF gets in at 11 am. 99% of the strip hotels don't even allow check in until around the time you get there (2 pm or even later at some). That is another thing to consider.

When I booked PH the person (whom of course, books for all of caesars) told me I must be there to check in. I did ask them if my wife could check in (since she was also on the reservation) and I show up later. I planned on using that time to drop off my dad at MGM. They said no, we both had to be there to check in.

Keep in mind, the main reason they need you there is because your room is comped. I am sure if you booked outright they would allow it as long as she had your credit card and wasn't using your TR card at all. Then again, with the whole ID Theft deal, they probably wouldnt allow that either.

If you booked the room online or through a reservations agent without a comp you could do it.
I have done it several times on a second room.
If you are using a comp or even casino rate you must be there.

It depends on what day of the week, how busy they are, and if there's some huge-ass convention in town or not! :poke:

Was there 5 weeks ago on a Monday wanting to check in just before noon. Some 35,000+ conventioners were there and the lobby looked like Disneyland at noon on a Saturday. The clerk said no rooms before 1pm today.

Left my bag with the bellhop and went to Earls for lunch.

Getting a room early is just like hitting a big slot machine jackpot.......right place, right time. :faint:
