I accrued 2400 ish tier credits during my last stay at Caesars. If I continue my usual play I should hit platinum this trip. Should I even chase this? The rewards page is very murky about renewal dates for your status. If I understand correctly, I will lose the new status before I even get to use any perks. We are returning for another week in October. I don't want to focus on this at all TR properties if it will be a waste. Any knowledge on this? "Your Base Reward Credits earned in a calendar year determine your Tier Score. Tier credits are earned January 1st through December 31st each year; the total is used to determine your Tier Status (e.g., Platinum). Your Tier Score resets each January 1st to zero, and you start to accumulate Tier Credits for the following calendar year. This change does not affect your Reward Credit balance. For further questions, please contact your local Total Rewards Center."
Hi. If you earn platinum in October, you will stay platinum until March 2014. All tier scores are reset January 1, but your status will remain.
we were just shy of platinum before our last trip and we easily achieved that and then some(alot of then some.... like 1500 credits) this was fairly easy and did not take alot of effort. We do use the same card most of the time and mainly gamble at CET properties...
Platinum is rather worthless. Other than the occasional gift shop or buffet discount at non-Vegas properties I can't think of anything platinum gets you. You will get a cooler looking card! Now if you reach diamond you'll get access to the super awesome diamond lounge with free stale potato chips and old cookies!
Does platinum not give you line jumping capability? Being able to go to the buffet and not wait in line would be worth it for me. The line is the one downside in the Buffet of Buffet's for me.
Platinum is worth it IMO. Nothing like cutting long hotel check in lines, long buffet lines, and cashier lines on a busy holiday weekend. Plus you get the other stuff mentioned.
Skipping the line with platinum varies from place to place. Does platinum allow for VIP/Diamond checkin? If it does that would be useful. I've been diamond for so long I don't notice any of the platinum signage.
Yes, my husband and I just reached platinum where we live, and wondered if we could use any of the buffet lines when we are in Vegas in 8 days? If anyone knows which ones, it would be nice to use since we earned it anyway, lol
From our experience you can skip the lines at most CET buffets except for the new Caesars buffet. Only Diamond and 7 Stars allowed to skip here.
Yes, they have separate check-in lines, and front of the line privledges at most restaurants/buffets. You're over half way there, so I'd go for it. It's worth it.
At the new Ceasars it does allow Platinum to skip during non busy times - not on weekends from what they told people when they first opened. However as it becomes a non-new place that may become standard also - it's going to be very popular now as a new buffet. It gets me nothing in Tunica, St Louis, Windsor, Metropolis, etc. However, I love those shorter lines in Vegas. I wouldn't chase it but I would keep your average daily play the same to at least maintain whatever offer types you currently get. Then if you get Platinum with that - great!! Also Platinum does get BOGO ticket to certain shows (1 set per mo) each month, such as Human Nature, Legends etc.
Yes!!! We actually were talking about that tonight, that we should try to play on one card. Duh! We are both preferred at a casino here, Belterrea, and if we had played on one card, we would have been elite already so we decided to do that in Vegas. Thanks for the info on the line passes though! Has anyone tried the buffet at Caesars?
Just remember - you may have a problem if you decide to travel with only one of you (the one whose card isn't played on). So when you reach Diamond, make sure you play a few days at a decent level to at least make sure the other person can get rooms if they travel alone!
@nostresshere...My bf mainly sports bets and a little blackjack, so his comps are little to nil. A few extra points may help but he doesn't bring in much as far as tier credits go.
