casino host offer

We returned from an eight day trip to Caesars Palace LV in August(Forum Tower...7 nights for $419 booked at TR website) to an e-mail from a casino host. She welcomed me to contact her for complimentary nights in an Octavius Tower room. We had usually stayed at Bally's due to super cheap rates, and this was our first time at Caesars. We already had a trip planned in October, so this is great news. I have been reading online and am nervous to book thru her, as I have read you have to meet minimum bets to actually get the comp. My bf would kill me if we had to pay casino rate on a $2300 room! Never had a host before so please...HELP. Need to book room soon. Any other host related advice would be appreciated.

 

Sounds like you already played enough to get comped the rooms during your last stay, so I would not worry too much about having to play additional to your normal bankroll. If you want to continue to get free rooms, try to play as much as you normally would and give as much play to your home casino (Caesars) as possible, but in no means should you OVERPLAY. Don't think because you spent 10k last time you should spend 20k this time to stay in your host good graces. They already see what you play and expect you to come back and play a similar amount. Even if you play $0, your host may ask you if there is a problem during your stay or why you aren't playing, but you shouldn't be charged for anything. Just don't expect to get free rooms in the future if you play nothing because the host won't be too happy at all.

Bottom line: Take the same BR you planned on taking. You may want to add whatever you would have spent on the room to your BR and play that additional, but don't over extend yourself.

 

Talk to the host, he/she won't bite! .... Ask them about your usual play and you want to make sure you are covered for at least the rooms based on those numbers.... rooms are usually not the problem being comped. RFB requires a host to evaluate your play at a little higher level.

 

Take the offer. Don't change your betting. Do focus your play on the single property.

 

If they are offering you the rooms as complimentary up front, they can't charge you for them on the back end. If you don't play, your offers will just go away and the host will silently curse you and never call again.

If I were you, though, I'd go to caesars.com, log in with you TR #, and check out the Vegas rate calendar. If she's offering you something the website will give you anyway, she's not really doing anything for you.

Personally I'd only want a host if they were getting me something I couldn't get from corporate. And if I was planning to low/no play a comp I'd MUCH rather not have a host (because I don't want someone bugging me, and also don't want to randomly screw them over).

 

Thank you all for your quick replies. My bf has been a vegas regular for years. (He used to go 7 times a year) This will only be my 6th trip out. I am not a High Roller by any means. I usually only bring a BR of $300 ish a day and usually play penny slots, sometimes max, mostly not. I do however log a lot of hours on the machines (4+ daily at least) This slowplay seems to go over well, as I am usually comped at least 3 to 5 nights per trip depending on the property in addition to whatever nights I get thru their marketing deal. I think our record trip was 10 nights at Ballys for $118 last summer. My bf mostly sports bets and a little blackjack and he gets zero deals thru marketing. However when we combine cards on their website we sometimes get better deals on some properties. I am just gonna keep doing what I do...it seems to have worked so far. The host thing just freaked me out. Never used one and neither has he. I have read to just be polite and ask what she can do for me and not act entitled and you will go far with a host.

 

She is offering me a room in the Octavius tower 3 nights comped and $85 a night for the other 4. My TR page shows that those rooms arent even available. The cheapest I could get Caesars was $749 for Forum tower with both of our cards.

 

That sounds like a very nice base offer. Don't worry about having a host and them bothering you. Take the offer from her and then just go and do what you do. Nothing bad will happen.

Take the offer, but play how you would have regardless. Worst thing that happens is the host doesn't give you any more offers.

 

I had a host from Caesars contact me (via phone) for the first time yesterday. I recently made Diamond and do most of my play in AC. She introduced herself and asked if there was any thing she could do for my upcomming trip to Vegas. After the conversation she emailed me and again said to contact her for any needs. So, I emailed back and asked if there was any chance to get hooked up with a couple BoB passes. Then she shoots me down and say she cant! WTF, dont call and offer then not produce! Total waste of time.

 

it seems that people freak out for no reason all the time in life and regarding hosts is no exception. everyone who swears off using a host because of the "pressure" or because they force you to play differently or whatever doesn't know what they're talking about.

having a host is a great thing because a) they can do things for you that offers dont and b) it's one person that you can call for everything so you don't have to talk to someone different every time you call. if a host is offering you a free room, take it. you've earned it.

enjoy your trip and play exactly like you would have played normally. charge all your F&B to the room. talk to the host at the end of your trip and maybe they can take some F&B off. next time you plan a trip, give the host a call. that's it. it's very simple, no pressure and can be great. if for whatever reason you don't play up to the level the host was expecting, you'll notice the host offers less and less on future trips. no big deal, if you don't like what they're offering, you don't have to use it.

 

LOL!!!! just because a host says call anytime you need anything, doesn't mean you'll always get what you ask for! that's just an invite to ask for what you need, not a guarantee that you'll get it.

OMG i called my host and asked for 2 villas and a private plane for NYE and he turned me down!!! WTF???!?!!!! what a scumbag!!!

Also, ask your host for stuff that doesn't cost them anything (or very little.) Want water in your room? Want tickets to a show that you're willing to pay for but can't get tickets? Want seats at a comedy show but you don't know where to sit because you don't want to become part of the show, but you want good seats?

Whatever you can think of that doesn't cost much, your host will almost certainly go out of her way to produce.

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY has even come here and said they did a CET comp, or deal, and had it change later. Never. Ever.

Best case: You get the same offer next time.
Worst case: You wont. Period.

Having said that, the Octavius tower is NICE (90% Aria, but not "quite" there). Still, you will really be happy there, and I would jump on that offer as fast as I could dial a phone.

 

Take the offer and play and your regular level.

Don't wait to book. Some nights are showing the whole hotel "sold out" on the calendar.

 

Update on Casino Host...not happy!

After an e-mail and two voicemails from a Caesars host, hot and bothered to comp me a room at the Octavius tower, I get...NOTHING! I worked all weekend and missed her calls on Saturday and Sunday. (I bartend, my weekends are screwed) I e-mailed her and left a voicemail on Monday am. It has now been 4 days and no return call. I called tonight and got a host on duty. I told her the hosts name and the offer she extended me...3 comped nights and $85 a night for the remaining 4 nights. The host on duty said, "No I couldn't possibly comp you any nights" and gave me a rate higher than I could get on the TR website. What a letdown. I am 19 days out from my trip and had to book ASAP. I went ahead and booked at Bally's...7 nights for $98 total. Sigh. I am not impressed with this treatment from Caesars. I am not at all compelled to spend a dime in their casino this trip. I realize they are all Harrahs properties, but this treatment made me feel like crap.
To extend me an offer and then not even return phone calls pisses me off. I have been in customer service for 26 years, and I would never treat a guest like that. Bad form. I guess Caesars did not value me as a client after all.

 

From the sound of it your original offer seemed to good to be true, but she said it was and you should be able to take them at their word.

Terrible customer service in my opinion, would love to hear what the first host says.

 

I Guess it depends on your play. Real talk if you dont play much and your host finally realizes this then you should not complain. Where can you get a week under $100? Just saying... if your play sucks then nothing you should complain about.
