    I'm kind of bummed.
I actually like having a variety of complete dumps that I can go to.
Besides, Dealertainers are awesome. ALICE COOPER FTW!!!!

Unless they raze the joint from the penthouse to the basement, put safes in the rooms, and actually have doors that shut on their own, it'll always be IP to me.

Oh lord... I can already hear people calling it "The Q"

What? No room renovations planned?!? I think THAT would be kind of important.

I guess they didn't read the survey they sent me regarding the Quad name-change. :Þ

I guess the Quad is the equivalent of a double #2, which is funny, because I always thought
the IP was the strip equivalent of toliet bowl with rooms. The Q in the logo looks like a swirl when you flush.

MGM at least upgraded the circus circus rooms, and tore down the Boardwalk.

They put "Resort" in the name, unless they do some serious upgrades, that place is far from being a "resort". The "M" is a resort, and the IP isn't even in the same Stratosphere as the "M"

That's too funny. Well, if there's one thing that QUAD IP didn't need, it was room renovations. I love that 70s lake house patio-furniture motif.

Kind of a silly name but I guess anything is an improvement as far as the IP goes. Wonder if room rates will take a large leap, especially if the rooms are eventually renovated.
Looking at the rendering, why is there nothing but a wall where O'sheas was? Not very inviting. I guess we'll see in a year or so.

So, does this mean yet another upscaling, including prices?

Any news on the buffet? Plans for Golden Corral still on? :)

I understand that the rooms will be renovated in stages, but they all will eventually be re-done. I guess if they are added the word "resort" they would have to redo they rooms to bring them up to "resort" level.

I think this will mean the end of the cheap room rates. I doubt that we will see any $20.00/night rooms after the remodel. I believe they want to try to go a bit more upscale.

Damn, now I am going to have to find another cheap place on the strip to stay. That might be hard to do in the future because the cheap places are going away.

I am hoping this turns out to be something nice. We'll just have to wait and see.

I will miss the IP, it was the first place I stayed when going to Vegas. Had my best blackjack and craps session there.

    RIP IP

I'd care if I cared about the strip. Those days are behind me. I might make a cameo at a strip casino now and again, but I'm not young enough to enjoy beer-soaked pool "parties" and "bottle service" at "ultra lounges." Nice rooms at Paris, no doubt, but I rarely set foot on the strip any more, and I don't miss it.

In my mind I always have a soft spot for IP. It was my first Vegas experience. When you are doing Vegas on a budget it was always the best place for 2 hots, a cot, and a squat. Who spends time in the room in Vegas anyway!!! I hate the "Quad". It puts me in mind of drunk college kids, puke on the floor, beer pong...hey guys! O"Sheas is back. Muh.

Every new CET initiative reeks of mediocrity. Would anybody be surprised if Linq was renamed "Linq presented by hot pockets"?
