    My Trip Report

Just got home a few hours ago (literally, freakin late arriving plane!) and I have a few drowsy minutes minutes at my desk before a conference call. Too tired to write a full trip report, but juct got back from two nights at the Venetian and thought I would share a few quick hit observations:

*Pizza Place at Wynn is gone! I am probably the last person to know this. Its gone back to being Sugar and Ice. I miss the pizza place. If anyone has suggestions for their favorite Strip pizza, I am all ears because now I need a new one

*Cantor gaming has set up a sports betting outpost in the middle of Palazzo, not near the sportsbook. I like this idea. It doesn;t take up that much space. I've never understood why more resports don;t try this, especially during football season when there is a lot of action. Much easier than walking all the way to the sportsbook

*Played in the high limit room at Venetian and Palazzo. I was surprised how may reserved tbales were set up and nobody playing at them. The ratio of reserved tables to open tables was 3 to 1.

*Last observation, I am officially old. I cute young lady and her friends invited me and my friend to join them at Tryst Saturday evening. I passed because they weren't even starting the party until midnight. I officially suck. In my defense, I only slept about three hours Friday night and knew I would be ready for bed at midnight on Saturday. Nevertheless, I still suck. At least my friend had fun

Did you watch the game in the sports book? Sorry about your team, UK.

I did not know about Wynn's pizza place closing.

Also, you indeed suck. What happened to your lust for life?

Didn't even watch them play. I'm really not much of a college football fan, more a basketball fan. We watched Alabama instead. I cheered for my wagers, lol.

Which reminds me of another observation: we ended up going to Lagasse Stadium. Not sure if I like ti or not. It's definitely different. more like a giant sports bar really than a sportsbook. I will need to go there again to get a better sense of the place

I am sitting on a conference call with no less than twenty other attorneys right now. I think that explains why my lust for life has been sapped

We went to Zoosacracker for some food instead. Wynn doesn;t really have any other quick eats options that I know of. Very disappointing

Did you bet EPL? If so, what long term bets did you make? I'm on Swansea for 100-1

Might as well have set that on fire, but it was a good joke with my son. I'm getting on Spurs in the near future, because we like Dempsey.

I would love to hear some more about Lagasse's Stadium. I am looking for a good place to watch Bama and LSU on my pre-birthday Saturday. I thought Lagasse's sounded cool, but I've never been there. I love college football and need to be somewhere I can cuss at a TV. (I may be a southern belle, but SEC football gets me riled up!!)

I don't know how to describe it. It's just like a giant sports bar where you can also place bets. That's the best I know to say. To me, a sportsbook feels very different than a sportsbar. So I guess it just depends on what experience you are looking for.

What time is that game on the 20th? If you feel like getting up early, go stake out a couch at the Aria sportsbook to watch it. And then let me crash your couch after sleeping in

Oh, and one other tidbit: when I arrived Friday I experienced my first ever long haul from the airport! Got in the cab, told the driver Venetian, and we pulled away from the curb. I was futzing with my phone when I felt the cab take an unexpected right turn (its a sad sign of how much time I spend in Vegas that I know the normal route out of the airport by feel alone!). Once I realized what was happening, we were headed for the tunnel. Thinking it was too late to stop it, I didn't say anything because I was curious how much worse long hauling is compared to the direct route.

I was stunned! By the time we finally circled around the rear of the airport and got on the interstate, the fare was already at $20! By the time we finally get to the Venetian, the fare is $30. I jump out of the cab, call over one of the traffic flow attendants and announce in a disgruntled manner that I believe I was just long hauled. The attendant asked me how much the fare was. When I told her $30, she glared at the driver and said it shouldn't be more than $18 (and I thought even that was high). She said I could report the driver and then walked away. The driver looked pretty sheepish at this point. I gave him $15 and he anxiously took it and drove away.

That's one thing I've noticed about Palazzo - their HL room seems much more fluid when it comes to what tables are open, and even what and how many tables are in the room based upon demand than most of the other places seem to be.

HA HA. Something tells me my games will be after yours. It's just seeing now if Alabama/Tennessee will be the afternoon game or LSU. My gut says bama will get the "2:30" game, and LSU will get the "7:00" game. UK....11AM!! LOL :poke: So you save me a couch, ok?

It was a bit different. I was just surprised how many reserved tables they had sitting in the main HL area with nobody playing. And obviously they had more private tables reserved in the back rooms (I saw Apollo Anton Ono playing at one as I walked by to the restroom). They even had multiple reserved BJ tables in the HL area that I never saw anyone play at the whole weekend

I think UK has plans to disband their football team after this past saturday, so they won't even be on the schedule. And at 9am on Saturday, I will either be hanging from a rock at Red Rock Canyon or relaxing at Spa Bellagio. I'll stake out a couch on Sunday when the real football begins :evillaugh
