    Hi,

I used Priceline "Name your own price" for 4 star strip hotel and got the Tropicana.

Now, I'm not happy with my deal and want not to use my reservation. I stayed there last year and I didn't like it. For me, I'm feeling it's more a 3- 3.5 star hotel not like a 4 star.

I booked another hotels (Promotions), because I like seperate showers in my room and more Vegas ambience. The casino had a few people, it was very quiet.

Is anyone here ever happen, too?

Part of the whole hidden bidding is not knowing what you will get. If you obligated yourself to it, you have to pay for it. If the hotel is important, do not use this process.

You have already paid for the room, but if you don't want to use it, that is up to you. I'm not sure if Priceline would refund your money because you felt their rating was wrong, but you could contact them and see what they say. Myself, I wouldn't rate the Tropicana a 4 star hotel either.

I like using Priceline for other cities when I'm basically looking for a nice, but cheap place to sleep. In Vegas, the amenities of the hotels are a much bigger factor and I would prefer to know exactly where I was staying. Plus, I enjoy the hunt of finding a good deal, then trying to find a better one :)

You don't have to use it, but you won't get a refund.

I bid for nearly every hotel, for every trip I go on, but Vegas 5 star only! (no bad eggs there, and Trump is in it's own zone now if you don't like that) The 4 stars are way too varied. They think Luxor, Mandalay Bay, Planet Hollywood and the Westin are "comparable" I've stayed at that Westin one too many times (which is a very nice place, but not what you want in Vegas)

Every other city it's great, because every hotel is a generic Hilton, Holiday Inn etc.. what an you lose?

Also your lifeline betterbidding.com, should give you a decent idea what you an expect on hotwire and priceline.

You don't have to use it but you won't get a refund. I won't use PriceLine I like to pick my place I'm staying. I won't fly SW because I can't get an assigned seat...I like to know what I'm paying for before I actually pay for it.

Too many unknowns. Plus we have to plan and make arrangements prior to any trips.

I knew, that it's a like a game and I was out of luck. No problem to get my money not refund - it was not to expensive.

@all - you are right. Next time, I will not use Priceline for accommodations in Vegas.
