hey all, will probably get a few pokes for this but we would like to try the breakfast buffet at Ip next week if it is still open.

we really enjoyed the breakfast and I am sure it`s days are numbered with the renovations happening there now.

    It was open last month.

You actually enjoyed the breakfast there? We found it disgusting. You can have a much better breakfast for the same price at Harrah's.

The only meal I ever at there was breakfast. I was literally the only one there except for the cashier and hostess. No servers, no customers, and nobody doing food service. Had the whole place to myself and couldn't find anything that looked safe or desirable to eat. I'd have to be disabled or agoraphobic to choose that place over all the other options around. Hell, even Hash House is just a few steps away. And I doubt that the buffet is even open anymore. You can just call and ask.

Why would you want to try the breakfast buffet at the IP? Why? What are you expecting?
There are too many better options than the Emperor's buffet. Go next door to Harrah's, Flavors is much better. Emperor's buffet is nothing special and as long as you are not expecting anything special, it will do.

hmm,I am going to rethink re visiting Ip buffet again and stick with our faves which include the patio at mon gabi, ellis island, magnolia`s verandah at four queens and maybe the early bird (middle of night) bacon and eggs special at the victorian room at bill`s. we had breakfast at the coffee shop a few trips back at harrah`s,it was delicious but really expensive.

I admit to doing the IP buffet a few times over the years.

It's there, now, cheap, and usually there's no line.

In my not so humble opinion, it's good for a quick cheap breakfast or brunch, but don't expect haute cuisine by any means!

I don't recall anything being unusually bad. However, it's certainly not on the must-do list. :)

I thought it was supposed to be closed in favor of a Golden Corral or something like that?

I've eaten at the IP buffet numerous times over the years as it was an easy racebook comp and it was a place to grab something quick to eat without having to stand in a long line.

Some of the food was ok, some of it...uhhh not so much.
I,nor anyone else I know was ever sick from eating there.
Other than the price ( free) and the convenience factor I would be in no hurry to go back.

Wait, are you in danger of getting a piercing wound at the buffet in addition to the crappy food? Do the servers actually poke your with forks for something? Would make for an interesting 'carving station,' I admit.

Or did you mean something food borne that can be vaccinated against, like Hepatitis A?

By the way, I highly recommend the combination Hepatitis A+B vaccine for everyone - it could save your life.
