    WE'RE SORRY!
This site is temporarily unavailable as it undergoes
improvements. We apologize for the inconvenience.
For immediate assistance, please call (866) 800-4668.

Yes, it has been reported here before. And I often tell folks to be patient and check back shortly and it will be up again. I even defend them sometimes.

But - over the past few weeks, I can not begin to count the number of times it is down. It is so very sad, and a total embarrassment to a company this size. Over the past year or two, the number of times it is down is beyond comprehension.

    Sad
    Sorry
    Stupid
    Silly

You know what bothers me even more than the website being down?
    1) That I have better offers at every single property if I just call their "casino VIP services" number on the back of the MLife card as opposed to trying to go through the MLife site
    2) That the site doesn't reflect the correct tier level, tier credits, or express comps, even though the MLife app does.
    3) That I seem to get different offers depending on which VIP services team member I talk to when I call...sigh

Probably other stuff I can't think of right now...

It's back up and I was able to log in. It's definitely frustrating when it's down but compared to Cosmo's Identity site (which has been down for over 6 months) it's easily considered "high availability"

It's not just the web-site. I'm in Vegas now, and their systems are down more than they are up. Charging to the room - System was down last night. Some guy was trying to charge a few things to the room in the Tuttos store at the Bellagio, and they had to manually call it in to the front desk. That took 15 minutes. I was next in line. When I was done, there were about 20 people behind me. I wanted to know why my tier credits weren't going up this morning - I was told the system was down.

It must be really frustrating for the people that have to work at M Life properties.

I may post this in a few other threads - my 2 night comp at MGM disappeared a while ago, and now a 3 night comp with $50 freeplay at Excalibur is gone as well.

And I just got a mailer for it last week. I may try to book this over the phone and see if it is really gone as in rescinded (can they do that?) or if it is just missing from MILF.

Offers appear and disappear from the web site all the time. It will still be available (unless the dates expired).

Yes, they can do that. They put it in the fine print of your offer right from the start that it's subject to change or removal. Chances are they offered it to a bunch of people, and once they got the number they wanted, they pulled it.

But call VIP services and ask them what they can do. There are definitely sometimes offers there that you can't see.

The site finally comes back up and it says my username and password are in correct. I don't think so. I finally get in hours later only to see my October offers half what they offered for September. They can't be serious. I am going to travel for 2 nights? I already booked October under the old program so will live it up on my 4 nights. It just makes me sad. If I have to pay for rooms I will have less to gamble with and the offers will go down again. It's the trickle down your leg theory.

I can log into Mlife, but it never has the correct information or offers. Here is my tax info. The only thing I know for sure is it says I am a tuckey which I assume in Mlife language is turkey. It also says I have no class.

Agree with the part in bold. How much does this crap cost MGM in the long run? Collateral damage?

No doubt in my mind that they have lost millions by not having at least a minimally functional website. Ridiculous nearly two years into the program that the website does not work anywhere near as well as the one that they had back when it was the players club. That site was not as functional as what CET has - but at least it was always up and the information was correct.

It can't be that hard to have a website that allows online booking. CET has had it for years - as has every major hotel chain in America.

Good lord, you should never return Exceptions to the the presentation layer. This is Java 101 stuff.

I am a software consultant, and I know exactly what is wrong with their site. There are many things wrong, from code issues to process issues, and I see them all.

I have begged and pleaded with them to let me help consult on their site, and they blew me off via email every time, except for a half-assed interview from a disinterested manager. I even offered to meet with them last time I was in Vegas, and never heard back.

I am basically assuming that they have no interest in getting the site operational.

Cliff notes: I tried. I really tried :)

That would make way too much sense. They are probably in the mindset of spending multi MILLIONS on little fixes. After all, "you get what you pay for", right?

    WRONG.

I really believe their IT problems are a management issue, and less of who does their IT. Anybody with a few years of GOOD mgmt would have realized by now that:

    * they are wasting considerable staff man hours waiting for their archaic systems to respond

    * they are probably running good staff out with frustration

    * staff that does stay get fed up and therefore treats customers poorly

    * customers continue to get frustrated, and eventually give up

    * major system snafus result in free rooms, food comps, etc. which cost them money

    etc.
    etc.
    etc.
