Maybe ask about the LVH (Hilton)? You will be in the area..maybe someone will post how the sportsbook was after the opening College Saturday? To be honest-I've never heard The STRAT to be a recommended place to catch the opening games, and I go every year..but I stay off-strip and watch at either the Rio or Gold Coast.. Good Luck Chubs!

Been doing the football weekend now for a few years. 4-6 guys. Sit, watch and drink all day Saturday and Sunday. Have tried several places. Right now, Las Vegas Hilton is our favorite. They have a parking lot in the back with an entrance close to the sports book. Saves you the long walk thru the casino.

Plenty of seating, although you do have to get there early to assure getting seats together. Dedicated area for sports - race bettors are on the other side, so you don't get in each other's way. The buffet is right next to the sports book. But, it's the snack bar at the back that I like best. It's not cheap. But you can get breakfast while you're waiting for the games to start. And the sandwiches are good for lunch.

Best of all, at least last year, no drink tickets. You just needed to have a live bet ticket. Gave the CW $20 when she took our 1st order, asked her to not be a stranger, and we were well taken care of all day. And the seats there were comfortable enough that you could sit there all day.

Looking forward to doing it again end of October. :drunk:

You should at least consider Bellagio for NCAA football on your Saturday. One of very few casinos that comp drinks during the games. By drinks I mean Newcastle, Red Bull and Vodka, great Bloody Mary's and so forth. We also hit the Strat fo NFL Sunday and had a riot. Lots of fans wearing their team jerseys and multiple big screens set up for all the games in the ballroom with satellite betting station. Smokin busty blackjack dealers in the back for those who are losing intersest (or drunk buddies).
