I am taking my daughter ( 21 ) and my son and a friend whom are both 18 to Vegas in Oct . We are going to the Furthur concert, but what else besides sight seeing is there for them to do --on the strip or near it ? We will be staying at the Excalibur. Are there any 18 and over clubs that play their type of music ( dubstep etc) ?

We took our 19 & 20 yr old girls to the iheart concert last year. They were soo busy seeing the sights and concerts, there was no time for much more! However, I do have to take them back for their 21st b'day! There was a lot they WANTED to do! LOL!

Hope you guys have as much fun as we did!

Go and shoot some guns at the gun store, that's good fun, and you don't have to be 21.

They won't be able to hang out in the casino's.
No clubs for 18 year olds that I know of.
They could hang at the pool depending on what time of year you're going.
Go to the shark aquarium at Mandalay Bay.
    Take them to some shows.

Depends on them and what they like, but another idea might be rent a car for day and go see some of the spectacular nature around Vegas. October would be great weather for a hike as well. Hoover Dam area, Lake Mead, Red Rocks, Mt. Charleston -- there are a lot of choices.

Perhaps there are some teens of members here who could give some advice. I took all 3 of my kids when they were in high school, one at a time. There was little boredom though they cannot even stand still in a casino while I was signing up for a player's card! There are museums, great afternoon shows like Mac King and Rick Thomas, as well as things already mentioned. All of my kids love theater so we did all the show's I could fit in and one (big time show). I have a girl and 2 boys and all loved to shop. Just the glitter of LV for the first time and being there and feeling the electricity in the air was great. There are some great arcades, theaters, virtual reality, zip lines, helicopter rides, museums, roller coasters, circus acts, games of skill, lots to eat, more shopping, the light show downtown, street art and talent, the dolphin pools, the secret gardens of S&R. Here's a thought, send them online to find some things they'd like to do or go to. There is indoor skydiving, elvis, and more shopping!

Good luck and enjoy time together; it gets tougher from here on out.

My 19 year old brother went with us last summer. During the day he went shopping and site seeing, at night he went to a couple shows, then he would meet back up with me and I'd buy him booze and we would just walk the strip and get drunk. Then when I went to gamble he took off and wondered the strip by himself, said it was a blast and met all kinds of people.

Can I just go on record here and say that if somone had introduced me to vegas when I was 18, I'd be dead now?

Furthur? How about an 1/8 of mushrooms, a pack of smokes, and the room number taped on the inside of their shoes. drop them off around Cesars and I'm sure they'll have the time of their life. Hopefully. :peace:
