    My Trip Report

Gonna make this quick - using valuable Vegas time, ya know. :) We arrived on Saturday about noon. Checked in to Paris Diamond Check-in - quick and painless - those folks are very well trained. :) Had another couple arriving about 7:30 who are celebrating their 30th anniversay that we travel with often. We have room 2974 that is wonderful! It is one of those "purple rooms" with the pillow top mattresses and a great view of the fountains.
We've done the buffet of buffets since the other couple was starving upon arrival...to PH for dinner, Paris for breakfast, Paris for a lite snack then Rio for dinner. Love the way PH & Paris will bring split / steamed crab legs to the table for the Diamond players - they get them from the kitchen and seem bigger that the ones at the station... Have gone to Paris & Flamingo Diamond Lounges - pretty sad. The lounge at our home casino - Horseshoe Southern In is much better. Made a trip over to Caesars for the Marketplace food court to get my fix on the lobster chowder....yum!

Taylor Hicks - American Idol winner is playing at the Indigo Lounge for 29.95 - we said why not - we enjoyed his quirkiness. Well - not disappointed at all. Very good show and used comps to pay for the tickets. Daughter is so jealous...hubby going back tonite with his iPad to film some of it to take home to her. I' l just hang out at the slots while he is gone....we are seldom together anyway...just check in to keep up. I went to the TR desk to get my 2 free Diamond tickets for Jubilee since we have never seen it and it would be convenient...well the great clerk - Shelli said "have you seen Jersey Boys?" Yes, we saw them in April... "you can see them again if you would like"...HUH? Thru August 31 - they are including Jersey Boys in the free ticket choices....heck yes, we are going again tomorrow nite.

Our traveling companions are going to Gordon Ramsey tonite for their anniversary dinner...I'll let you know what their experience was like after we get home.

Oh - there are more Asian tour groups than I've every seen. The food service manager said their are litterly thousands that arrived on Sunday and took all the queen rooms with a fountain view at Paris, Ballys, Caesars & Flamingo. I happened to be standing near the exit of "O" at Bellagio when it let out on Sunday nite and only a few were not Asian. The groups are walking around with a "guide" holding a sign and filling every area they are near. Some are dressed very fancy and even had some geisha's in the group. Very interesting to watch their faces as they experience LV for the 1st time.

Hubby is filming a lot so I'll try to get him to figure out how to post on here later. Going to the Diamond Lounge when hubby heads to the show - the drinks are definately better than on the floor. Will post more later.... :):)

Dang - and NOW I regret not having Diamond!!! Oh well.

Not much of a view chance for us as I had to request a roll-in queen shower stall for mom so I'm sure the room selection is limited for that.

No BIG wins as yet...just many, many in the $100-$500 range...keeping me afloat. Just hit a Hot Hot Penny for $215 - think I need a Sugar Factory milkshake....lol. Friends said their dinner at Gordon Ramsey's at Paris may have been the best Filet they have ever had and they travel all over the world...that is saying a lot. Said the flavor of the meat was unbelieveable. The staff said there is no special seasoning...just aged 28 days with something??? to lock in all the juices and seared. Not sure they believe that they said...lol. We got interrupted just as they were sharing the cost though.
Gonna get that shake and see if I can get the 1800 I need for Diamond for this year. Getting used to the perks. Oh - forgot to mention that Sunday nite the like to get into the Rio buffet was 4 rows deep and out to the doors. (just can't see us waiting in line 2 hours - no food is worth it) That is what is so sweet about Diamond...walked right up and was seated immediately. Just call me spoiled.... :)

Just arrived home...sadly....never ready to come home. lol Saw Jersey Boys again last nite and it was even better than the 1st...seats just not up front but were still good. This Frankie blew the one we saw in April out of the water...his voice WAS Frankie Valli. Hope other Diamond cardholders can take advantage of the free tickets they are offering.
Some of you may remember my posts regarding my husband's serious medical issues and they did flare up this trip. He really had a hard time several days and we were not able to eat at a few of the restaurants on our bucket list. We are hoping the March trip will go better. I know we had a great time but were more limited this trip - feel so bad for him as LV is his fav place on earth...
Several asked that we post pictures of the purple rooms at the Paris and hope to get them on within a couple of days. It's 2 am & gonna get to bed .....our great grandson did not get his regular Saturday with his Mimi & Poppy and he can't wait to see us..did facetime on the iPad and talked with him but he just kept saying I want Mimi for days.....that is the 1st thing on our agenda when we get up. :) More later.
