Me and 7 of my mates, all 22-23yrs olds are heading to Vegas and staying in the NYNY between Aug 28 and Sept 4th. Many of us haven't been to US before let alone Vegas and although hearing a lot from friends we would like to know a bit more...

    > What are the best clubs?

    >Any tips for a group of lads going out?

    >Best pool parties and are they worth the money?

    >Pre-Drinking, should we drink at casinos or rooms before heading out?

    >What time would be best to head to the clubs?

    >Will our UK Driving license be enough ID to get in?

We would really appreciate as much information as possible so feel free to add anything else...

    Many Thanks!

    Two Clubs right now

    Marquee at Cosmopolitan
    XS at Encore

Since you are a group of guys you will have to PAY to get in. If you can afford it, get a table.

IMHO, EVERY pool party is worth it. ON Friday guests NOT staying at the Palms can get into Ditch Fridays at the Palms. GO. Get there at 9 AM. it will cost you but it is worth it.

Pre-drinking. You are going to order drinks in the club anyway so why bother. Expect to pay $15 bucks for one drink in the clubs. That would be about 10-11 pounds.

Since your body clocks will be all out of whack the best time is 11 PM. Of course, everyone else is there at that time so expect a two hour line wait. When I went to the clubs I was ALWAYS the first one there. I did not care if I was early.

Yes, international IDs will get yo in any club. They are used to it. Lock up your passports in the room safe or better yet, get a casino safe deposit box.

Just a note to say remember to check that yourself and your friends are all registered with ESTA or you will not be allowed to fly to the states.

Have a good trip , you are about to be gob smacked. Big time.

Cheers for the help chaps much appreciated, visas are all ready to go.

Another thing that has come up is dress code, we understand that the dress code may be a little different from over here.We are used to wearing trainers, deck shoes or loafers of a night out with skinny/slim jeans or coloured chinos and a short sleeved shirt or tee. Is this acceptable? I've read a lot about not getting in unless you wear black smart shoes, and plain long sleeved shirts with regular jeans. Is this true??

    Thanks again.

    No T Shirts

Not sure what trainers are but I will assume those are what we call tennis shoes or gym shoes or basketball shoes or running shoes. Don't wear those either.

    No shorts. No cutoff jeans.

    Look presentable.

To quote ZZ Top, "ladies love a sharp dressed man". Channel your inner Vegas manwhore and take a suit, get your mack on, and know that your accents are waaaay sexier over 'ere than at home.

Also have a pregame plan if anyone brings a guest home. If you know what I mean. ;)

Coming from the UK and with regards to ID, the only thing you may struggle with is showing your UK driving license in the casinos for gambling. The first few trips i did to Vegas my driving license was always accepted everywhere for clubs and casinos, but recently they have started asking for a passport instead. They will also tell you that if you take your passport to the security desk they will issue you with a wristband which means you are ok to gamble in that casino. This is a bit annoying as i personally dont want to walk round with a daft wristband on, but it's either that or carry your passport.

If you do decide to carry your passport round with you like i do, make sure you take a photocopy of the photo page (and store somewhere safe) as this makes it a hell of a lot easier to get a replacement should the worst happen and you lose it.

As for the dress code, i would say make an effort and dress as though you were out on a decent night out in the UK somewhere i.e no trainers.

    Have a good trip

The main thing to keep in mind is that you guys will not be in the only people in the place so please dont act like you are.

Yelling, gettig too loud, insulting others, all of that is a huge turn off for most people so mainatin a bit of decorum.

You dont have to act like you are in court of anything but there just keep your wits about you.

Waitresses and bartenders expect to be tipped in paper money. they expect it every drink. If you dont tip them, they have no motivation to come back with more beer.

Even though vegas is a party place it its mainly set up for middle aged people so expect top do alot of hanging around with people your parents age. Its not bad at all just dont be surprosed to see it.

of course you wont see many in the fancy clubs but you have to do something during the days.

    :confused2:

Where on earth did that come from?

Why would you assume that they’re going to act like dicks?
