The wife and I were just in Vegas the last week of July. We signed up for Mlife while we were there and had around $3,500 in coin in the 3.5 days we were there. Just got a 2 night comp stay at the Monte Carlo, were we did most of our play, and will be going back Oct.5-7. I wanted to know if its worth contacting a Host before we go or do I wait till after this trip and are ready to plan our next?

If you already booked, and the booking meets your needs, I'd say you're fine without a host right now.

If you need help booking restaurants and shows, there are other ways of getting help with that.

Based on your play ($1,000 coin-in a day), I don't see any chance of additional comps beyond your free room.

Put simply, your play doesn't really merit a host right now.

At that level, probably not much if anything additional.

Very true..... The Mote Carlo sent me the offer of 2 comp nights, $50 in Freeplay about a month after we were playing there. Since I still cant log on to the MLife website :rolleyes2: how would I find out if I have any other offers? Also if we want to earn comps at say Aria should we do most of our play there during our next stay? Had been thinking about doing 1 day heavy at either Monte Carlo or Aria and maybe signing up for a CET card and playing at one of there places the second day, does this sound like a good plan?
We dont play to really earn anything but the goodtime, but since we got an offer would love to keep them coming since we live 5 hours away only. :evillaugh

You used the term "coin in" but do you actually mean "coin in" or do you mean that you had $3500 to gamble with?

If you did mean "coin in" then you are very far away from being at a point where a host will do anything for you beyond what you can get through their standard marketing system or logging in to MLife.

Of course the first question should really be: do you even need a host?

There are two answers to that question: "do you, personally, need a host?" and "does your gambling level need a host?"

For your gambling level the answer is no. You are getting 2 nights in a standard room with $50 in free play. When they are sending you offers for 3 nights, sometimes in a suite, with $250+ in free play and some food and beverage comps then your level of gambling is getting to where maybe having a host might get you more.

So then its just if you personally feel you need a host: for this you have to ask yourself what you reasonably think a host would be able to do for you based on your level of play. They aren't going to give you free show tickets, they won't give you free drinks, for food you might be able to squeeze a 2-for-1 buffet pass out of them at best, they won't give you a free limo ride to and from the airport... so it really is: what more are you going to want out of a host that you think they can provide a gambler of your level?

For all this it might seem like I am digging in to you a little, but thats not the intention: just at your level there isn't anything you can reasonably expect beyond what you are getting already and it doesn't sound like you should really want anything more (that you can reasonably expect) than what you are getting, just that you might want a host for the sake of having a host.

I agree with Auggie. A $3000 bankroll vs $3000 coin through is a huge difference. A $3000 bankroll for 3 days could produce coin through of $25,000 or more and translate into a respectable ADT.

My bankroll for the upcoming trip will be $4000. The last trip we really didnt have a certain budget just went and played when we wanted to and ended up with 16000 tier points in 3 days. I dont think I need a host or really want one was just wondering. To my second question, is it better to take a part of the Bankroll and use it at say Aria since we'd like to stay there next or keep it at Monte Carlo? ANd what is the best CET property to play at? Like I said I am more then happy with what I've gotten so far just wanted some advise on what is the best way to keep them coming.

16000 tier credits would be $80,000 coin in. I'm not going to say it can't be done, but that's a heck of a lot to get out of a 3-4k bankroll.

Splitting play between MGM and CET will most likely lower your offers. But I say play where you have fun and don't stick with a casino you are losing at just for comps.

I have stayed at Flamingo, Paris, and Aria. Aria rooms are head and shoulders above the Paris and Flamingo as far as hotels go. That said, I am considering PH this year, or maybe CP.

I think he was talking about MLife... where you get 5TCs per $1, which would be $3200 coin in.

With Total Rewards it doesn't really matter: based on what your level of play is they will send you offers and discounts from all properties appropriate for your level of play.

So if you were a low roller you might get free rooms at Harrah's and Imperial Palace, discounted rooms at Flamingo and Bally's and then nothing (or next to it) from Paris, Planet Hollywood and Caesars... but it doesn't matter where you play.

With MLife they used to be the same but they changed their program last fall. Now they send out two kinds of offers: ones dubbed "corporate offers" and the others which are from a specific property.

The offers from a specific property are based on your play at that property and will be better than corporate offers.

Corporate offers are offers based on your overall level of play but will not be as good as an offer from a specific hotel marketed directly to you.

So to answer your question: if you want offers from Aria then you really need to put in a lot of play at Aria in order to get them... but in doing so that might mean that next time you are going to Las Vegas Monte Carlo might not send you anything in the way of offers because you didn't play there as much.

So its kind of a balancing act and there are pitfalls you have to watch out for like if you concentrate all your play at Aria but your play isn't good enough to get much of an offer from Aria then by not playing at the "lesser" casinos you aren't going to get much in the way of offers from anybody - the Aria offers won't be so good because your play isn't good enough and then the offers from places like Luxor, NYNY or MGM aren't so good because they are only corporate offers because you hardly played in their casinos, if at all, so you don't warrant the better offers that come from those casinos marketed specifically to you.

Good insight thank you. I like what I hear about TR and will try it out while I'm there in Oct. We had a great time at Monte Carlo while we there last month andare just happy to be going back again.
