How many tier credits would you estimate I'd earn playing $25/hand at a Harrahs property for 4 hours? Ballpark of course!

Looking to build tomorrow at Harrahs Cherokee which now has real live tables.

100-150 points depending on how you vary your bet.

Last time I played BJ was at Bally's and my initial bets were $10. When I started winning like 30 minutes later, I increased by bets to $15 when I saw the pit boss come around. Played for around 2 hours and got 56 tier credits. So I would assume around 150-200

Just played in New Orleans last weekend for 4 hours and got 357 tier credits. Probably a range from $25 to $75 depending on how it was going but more at the $25 than higher.

Cherokee live tables are currently $50-$100 minimums.

Last trip at Bally's I averaged 310 points a day playing BJ for probably 5 hours at probably a $15-20 avg. There was a little bit of slot play as well but not a whole lot.

I don't know if it is true or not, but I've heard that if you break down the CET comp rate down to the $5 bettor level that they are only giving out about a nickle or a dime per hour which is pretty pathetic once you consider the fact that most poker rooms will credit a poker player $1 per hour ...

First, the question was about tier credits, not reward credits.

Second, most props won't even rate $5/hand, so anything is better than nothing.

Third, once you figure in the table overhead, don't be surprised if a casino gets more rake from a 1-2 poker player in an hour than the theoretical win from a flat $5 BJ bettor.

How do you feel about getting 50 points for that amount of play? I think a player should reasonably expect to receive about the amount of your average bet if you play for 4 hours. CET doesn't come anywhere close to giving this amount to table game players.

What is the dollar value of these 100 - 150 points?

You should be getting about $25 in point value from that play, but since CET is probably the worst for giving back to table game players I'd guess that you will be lucky to get $1-$2 in point value from them.

CET will rate a $5 player as they are the kind of place that is always asking for a players card when you buy in.

Total Rewards are $1.00 for 100 credits. Or, $.01 per point. Same thing.

Once again, the OP was asking about tier credits, not RCs.

Tier credits have no monetary value.

I have a couple of recent samples on this.

$150/hand for 12 hours resulted in about 3000 tier credits. This is about 1.66 credit per $1 per hour.

$200/hand for 16 hours was worth about 5000 tier credits which calculate down to 1.56 credit per $1 per hour.

These are ROUGH numbers but you might reasonably assume that at favorable/high limit rules BJ you should get about 1.5 credits per hour per dollar bet. So, $25/hour for 4 hours would be worth 1.5*25*4=150 tier points. I'm not sure why CET won't just come out and tell you that, but they keep it a complete mystery for table players. Roulette or lousy rules BJ should be worth a lot more since the house advantage is so much greater, but I have no real data on that.

No, that does not sound like much at all in terms of comp value. But remember, much of the comp value from CET is from your upfront offer--you are there on a room comp, of course, and the comps generated by any play on the current trip are additional.

Both of these trips were for 3 nights at Caesars Palace, both resulted in wins, and in both cases all food and beverage (in the range of $600-800) were picked up by the host even though the "rewards credits" justified only $30-50. So there are substantial "discretionary" comps available from CET at that midlevel table play. I suspect that is because they have completely lost the high end play and they are quite interested in keeping what they have left at my level.

I can tell you that if I had stayed at Bellagio or Aria, I would expect ZERO in Food/Bev would have been picked up at the end beyond the express comps based on this play--and they would have been snotty about telling me that I was lucky to get a room comp. 10 years ago, that play was worth RFL and very possibly RFB at the Mirage--but today not even close. Frankly I like the newer CP rooms and it seems to me like there is more bang for the buck at Caesars even though the conventional wisdom says table players do better in terms of comps at MGM props.

Interesting post, thanks. I suspect you are correct about what Bellagio or Aria would do for you in the first example. $150 a hand for 12 hours over 3 days would get the room comp and ECs.

$200 a hand for 16 hours over 3 days would hopefully get some additional F&B comps but if you had $600-$800 picked up on both trips, you are doing well!

Is the only decent BJ at Caesars in the HL room? Is that just 6 deck?

The only S17 games at Caesars are in the HL room. $100 min is the norm, sometimes $200 on Sat night. On weekends you do see some $500 and reserved tables taking pretty heavy action. Mostly 6 deck--they have had a double deck game available in the past year, although I did not see it last time. It is/was not always open and usually $200 min.

There are H17 but otherwise decent rules games widely available at $25-50 mins in the old, circular, historic casino.

There are games with horrific rules including 6/5 in the newer parts of the casino at $10 and $15 mins.

Thanks. I'm strictly S17 only so that means the HL room.

I checked with Bellagio. Evidently last trip I played 15.5 hours at $186/hand. I had come in on a room comp for 3 days, stayed in tower deluxe, and had $100 f/b upfront. At checkout I only had express comps applied to my bill, no discretionary comps on f/b. Over the years, they have nearly always said I am overcomped, no matter how much I play. The recent experience with Caesars picking everything up with the same play has been surprising and refreshing.
