What sports book would u call the most laid back and better for a group of guys wanting to place sports bets and watch the game? Seems like every time we try somewhere it's packed full of avid race fans who are annoyed by our presence

Aria. I don't think I have seen anyone watching horse racing in there.

Aria has a whole separate area for the race bettors, which could make that book a good option. Otherwise, you may want to try one ot he smaller books. I have never seen many race bettors at Planet Hollywood

Of course the alternative is to go somewhere where LOTS of guys are watching the game and drowning out the grumbles of the race bettors. I never noticed any nasty looks when I was out in March for conference tourney BB. Safety in numbers.

What is the Aria like re: drink tickets for football bets?
Last time at the Mirage they gave me a hard time after beeting almost $400 on sports bets but had no problem giving them to me for a $4 horse race

Laid back sportsbook on the strip on a football day...yeah, that doesn't exist. You won't have to worry about horse bettors on a football Sunday. You will have to worry about getting a seat at all unless you're a VIP (4 figure bets, minimum, or if you're a big player at the tables your host can hook you up.)

The horses will still be on one TV, but everything else will be games.

Horse race bettors are dying off

Hardly anyone bets on ponies anymore. If you look at the amount bet on Mondays through Wednesdays it can be just a few thousand dollars TOTAL on every race.

Don't sit where the horse bettors are sitting. That is the best way.

I will report on the new, and improved Palms Sportsbook on Friday, September 7.

Aria does drink tickets. you can use them with the aitress that comes by or take them to the bar just outside the book. Just make sure you ask for them when you place your bets. First day this past week, I placed $600 in bets and the attendant immediately gave me s stack of four tickets. Couple days later, I placed $2500 in bets and had to ask the attendant for some tickets. he gave me two

If you're there a long time, be sure to ask for drink tickets when you buy your sports ticket and also when you cash a winner. Doesn't always work, but more than you'd think.
