Now that Ghirardelli's is gone, after 15 years I need to find a new ice cream place that serves Malts and Sundaes. I know there are ice cream places in Vegas but Ghirardelli's is the only one we have ever gone to. Thanks for any suggestions you can send my way.

Well, Cosmo recently opened a new place serving up adult ice cream concoctions. It's called Neapolitan (or some derivation thereof).

If you're looking for alcohol free treats, my favorite is the gelato place just inside the Bellagio (on the north side of the fountains). I don't know what it's called.

Lapperts at the Cal would be my choice if you are going to be DT. Same ice cream you get in Maui. Located on the "bridge" that joins MSS and the Cal inside the casino.

Do yourself a favor and try the coconut pineaple ice cream.

The ice cream, milk shakes and sundaes at Serendipity (in front of Caesar's) are outstanding.

Lappert's in Hawaii is NOT the same as the mainland Lappert's. Not saying its not good, but they're not affiliated in any way.

FYI Check the Lapperts website(under our story). Says "their" product is sold at COMPANY SHOPS in Nevada and Cali. So it is their product being sold in their stores.

Think about it if they were not Lapperts they couldn't use the Lapperts logo.

Lapperts is good, but Luv-It custard is fabulous!
As good and rich as the stuff back here in WI.

This advice is only if you have a car. Even though they have a walk-up window-don't walk unless you are staying at The STRAT .

imderekpoe is correct. The company in Hawaii is the original; the company in California is a separate company. The two companies are owned by different members of the same family. If you check Lappert's web site, you'll see they state that very thing: http://www.lapperts.com/story.html .

Sugar Factory at Paris, not bad for shakes, desserts and just plain ice cream.

MMM frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity!! So good, even if you have to walk out in the 115ยบ weather to go get it haha.

I also like the Gelato at Jean Phillipe at Aria. I think the have one in Bellagio as well.

If you liked Ghiridelli then hit up Earl of Sandwich in Planet Hollywood for a Ghiridelli Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich. Better than a sundae, and you can eat it with you hands!

Kind of off the beaten path, but the ice cream place at Sam's Town is yummy and not too expensive!
