I'm kind of in a battle with Harrah's right now over the massive withdrawls from my TR account for a few recent stays. After fighting and fighting with my host I finally got a statement of what was used in the Month of July. I don't contend the amounts spent, but what has me baffled is the value per point.

On points withdrawn over 30 days for food comps the value per point is 1/2 a cent. On a single large withdawl for cash (800 dollars) again, the value per point was 1/2 a cent, 160,000 points. Everything I've read says that I'm supposed to get 1 cent per point. I've even had someone at a TR counter tell me the same (only after asking the question 5 different ways).

Does anyone know what the value should be? Apparently Caesars doesn't want me to know.

    Thanks,

    Roveer

They withdrew the right amount. TR points are worth 1 point per 1 penny only if you use them at a CET restaurant in Las Vegas. If you use them for cash, hard food comps, or freeplay they are only worth 1/2 cent each. I'm pretty sure some of the other markets (AC, possibly others) will even charge you 1 point per 1/2 cent even for food comps at CET restaurants. Hopefully that makes sense.

Food and other hotel services should be 1 cent per point.

Free Play and Cash Back should be .5 cent per point.

I have read on this forum a few times where people have gotten the full 1 cent for cash back, but it sounded like a promo at the specific casino.

I know my aunt cashed in her Race to Rewards last year and got .5 cent per point.

Edit - Ike is correct on the food. I assumed the food was from CET restaurants within the casino.

Turns out I was wrong. My host replied and confirmed the 1 cent per point and I was just getting ready to blast her when I redid my spreadsheet and realized that my original spreadsheet did not include all of the transactions. After I redid it, it turned out to be 1c per point.

Don't you hate it when you finally realize who was wrong? LOL

    FYI -
Some restaurants are at the 2:1. At Harrahs in Tunica, the "name brand" places are like that. A $8 burger costs 1600 points vs 800 elsewhere.

In AC also about 75% of the food locations are 2 points required for .01 credit. The buffet & burger spot & the restaurant (Jimmy's?) were all 1/1 so we ate there.

As it turns out, it's usually me, so I'm kind off used to it. I will say that CET does just about everything they can to conceal the facts. It took me many many requests to finally get the information I wanted. I never get a straight answer when it comes to TR.

Have to agree. Knowing where you REALLY stand on your RCs is some big secret. That part really pisses me off, and has lead to my moving to MGM. Other reasons as well, since MGM hides them too.

Most places that I have seen for the point to freeplay is the 2:1. 1 pt = 1/2 a cent.

Most food places are 1 point to 1 cent. But not all. Some are slowly moving to the 2:1 deal.

So, to answer your question, yes, no, or maybe.

Free play would be 2:1 anywhere. As for food, in most markets is still 1:1, not 2:1 like AC. A lot of time you you dealing with their casino-owned food outlets and I can't see a reason to justify 2:1 in those situations.

As it turns out I was not wrong. My host was. Based on information I learned here many things in AC are only 1/2 a cent. My host kept referring to amounts that were outside of the dates (July) and just by chance the math worked out to 1 cent per point. When I properly applied the number of points used in July to the amount of points deducted it does not work. So, I have to follow the fact that a lot of things were 2 points per cent.

The lesson here is that the host usually doesn't know what she is talking about and 2nd, she doesn't care enough to learn. Thanks to this message board, I was able to get my answer. No thanks to my host. I'm not even going to bother correcting her, it's not worth the time.

    Sad, isn't it.

In my dealings with multiple hosts, most do not understand the workings of their system. I too do not bother trying to educate them.

At Harrah's Ak-Chin the food credit is one point = one penny. Glad it's not a half-cent. :nworthy:

But they make up for this by having all the popular penny machines at 2 cents instead of one. :grrr:

Some of the cheaper dining options in Tunica have signs stating 200 points per dollar. These were in the food court places....as if they weren't expensive enough already.

I mentioned that earlier. 2:1 for some places, generally if they are "brand" names vs. in house outlets, it will be the higher rate.
