    "My Vacation Policy Is......"

OH, YEEEAAAHHHHHH!!! I love this term "my vacation policy" i must steal this!!!!

but what if one family member who is fun (85 y.o. Mom) is going with you and the not fun cheapskate very sensitive sister (55 y.o. sister) invites herself along???

that is a slippery slope-what to do??

Did you want to go with ONLY your mom or is it a group thing with others?

I think it's an easy fix if it was just supposed to be your mom only. You tell your sister that you wanted to have some alone time with just your mom and planned this trip accordingly. You'll see the rest of them some other time or she can do something else with mom when ya bring her back.

My mom just called me yesterday and asked me if my younger brother can come on my solo trip. I said I don't care but I'm gonna be gambling alot so dont expect me to entertain him at all. So I called up my brother and told him this as well and he said no problem I can keep myself entertained.

I was kinda excited for this trip as it would be my frist solo trip, but I'm glad hes coming now. I think it'll be more fun than solo since we went together last summer and had a blast.

" do u have to gamble so much" in a word yes. arrrr never again thank goodness the hubby stayed 3 extra days without the witch complaining every two steps

Uh...my parents would be tops on my list.lol

It's funny... Wife's work was running a contest and the winner in each department would win a trip for two to Vegas. The only catch is that it is a company trip and events would be centered around the group. She told her boss she was not interested in winning.:rolleyes2:

I can't think of anyone, but there are quite a few people that I would be very up front with what I expect to do in Vegas. I simply do not want to be the tour coordinator. I'm fine with them following me around, I just want them to be aware of what I will be doing. Some people may find it boring to sit on a BJ table for hours. :)

There are a few friends that I know do not like to gamble. I know I would have a good time with them at certain times during the trip. I have no problem with giving them some suggestions on what they could do.

I'm not married so maybe that would be an exception, but I have no issue telling anyone that I'm just going to go off on my own for an afternoon or evening.

I'm actually in this exact situation right now, I'm currently planning my next trip to vegas for the end of october for a weekend, and the people that I want to go with me, are actually busy/away/unable to make it, and the people that want to go with me are ones I dont want to take as I know how they are.. I don't wanna go with annoying people. So I'm currently deciding on who to go with.. to make this a monthly trip, so we can go at the end of every month for a weekend.

Well, just a few minutes ago they called about discovering some great flight deals in Oct. Wanted to know if we're interested. I told my wife to let them know we're still not sure if we can go at that time but to book their flights to take advantage of the deals. We aren't lying, for our job commitments to the end of the year is quite busy. We were thinking of a trip in December around Christmas time.

Still, same thing happened last year. We couldn't make a prior planned date and they waited until they found out we booked our flight, then matched it, without even asking if it was o.k. to tag along....

I think this year your relative will invite more relatives to surprise you and your wife and book also when they find out the dates you are going to Vegas in Dec.
Like I said before..... there are no secrets in this life.lol. Lucy

    Interesting thread.

I am shortly going to LV with a (relatively new) gf who has no interest in gambling. I thought I wanted to go with her, but now I am not so sure!!

I have tried to explain to her that I intend to spend 4+ hours a day in the casino, but she doesn't seem to get it. Even sneaking off downstairs in the middle of the night will probably not work as she's a real night owl.

I will book her a spa treatment - need to think of some other ideas to keep her occupied! Any suggestions welcomed!!

Does she really want to go to Vegas and not gamble at all? Or does she just not trust for you to go alone? Or are you the one coaxing her? I don't know how you two are going to have a fun trip if you're off doing your own thing.

Yes she does want to go and no she doesn't want to gamble at all. I had already booked to go before I met her - she decided she wanted to come along.

I have booked a rental car so we can do a day trip some where, and maybe go to the outlet mall as she enjoys shopping. It's the bit where I have said I will be spending a few hours a day gambling that she doesn't quite get.

    We'll see I guess.

I get it. As long as you spend $$ on her, she'll be happy.

Eh? don't recall where I said that. :rolleyes2:

Given she's paid for her own flight out there - and in business class on BA which is not cheap- I don't think that will be an issue.

The city is built on first timers who didnt intend to gamble. Who knows, she may end up having a wonderful time in the casino. Plop her down ifo wheel of fortune and let her go at it.
