    Hi All,

I have an opportunity to change hotels from venetian to Mirage to save $200...my questions is,is it worth the perceived step down for that?

I probably wont gamble too much at either property or indeed go to clubs/restaurants...however I do like a nice pool and room + love the feeling of being in a quality reosrt in vegas

though it is starting to show its age, the rooms at V/P are nicer. Make sure you are figuring in resort fee as well.

I'm guessin' we're talkin' 2-3 day stay? I say, "Yes"... it's worth it. I like the Mirage and I like that side of the street. There's nothing wrong with the Venetian/Palazzo, I'm just no Sheldon Adelson fan. The service and facilities there are top notch. That said, The Mirage is no "dump" by any stretch and a fun property to boot.

Depends on how much you want the $200! I'd be happy at either property. Venetian is definitely ultimate luxury though. I feel honestly, if I stay at V/P I could honestly never leave the compound and be content, there is so much to see and do.

For me, saving $200, i'd switch. That's more money to shop, or eat a nice meal.

I'd take the $200 and gamble more. V is nicer, but I've been satisfied with the Mirage as well.

I prefer the restaurant selection at Venetian, but I generally don't eat in the hotel I stay at anyway, so this wouldn't be an issue for me.

Mirage has the better pool but the Venetian has significantly nicer rooms and a more 'luxurious' feel.

It also has better restaurants however it has worse gambling.

Going by your declared preferences, I'd take the Venetian.

Both places have a resort fee, so thats pretty much a non issue. 20 bucks at V/P, 25 at Mirage.

over here in the UKyou tend to get the deals packaged up with resort fee included as I guess its completely alien to have these charges levied over here

I think I am going to change,as have rerservation at Fin booked anyway, the pool at the mirage seems a bit better,or at least equal to the V and the ease of location/strip access has a lot going for the Miraage too as was previously booked in to the Venezia tower

While Mirage is a perfectly nice hotel with a good pool, it isn't really in the same class as the Venetian IMO - you'd be stepping down at least a half-step on the luxury scale. Also, the combined Venetian/Palazzo complex is much, much larger than Mirage, especially in terms of restaurant & shopping options [plus you have 2 casino floors, etc.] You'd need to upgrade to a suite @ Mirage to get the same amount of space you'd get in a standard room at the Venetian - standard rooms at Mirage are [literally] half the size of standard rooms at Venetian, and the standard bathrooms at Mirage are tiny.

Saving $200 is a nice amount of money to save in switching hotels. That being said, I'd still stay with the Venetian with all it has to offer as mentioned by previous posters.
