Hi. I've had my TR's Card for awhile now however, haven't been to Vegas in 2 yrs (long story). My Gold card has zero points currently but i do have some deals because of my card. I have decided to choose Bally's or IP. I have stayed at Bally's the last 4 or 5 times. I love it because it's connected to Paris, my favorite casino.
But looking at my "deals" .......Bally's $42.50, which isn't bad, but i'm used to getting comps most or all of the nights. I looked at IP which is approx $25 (4 nights) but i heard IP is under construction? My goal is using my card like i used to, to get better deals later on. Would you choose IP and save $70? Or stick with Bally's? Basically what i'm asking is, is IP OK? I don't gamble there, never stayed their either, although i used to love O'Sheas next door but their gone. Thanks.

Thanks. I went to the Auto Museum a few years back, but yeah, that's why i never stayed there. Maybe Bally's will offer a little discount when checking out. I plan on using my TR card at most of the "Harrah's" casinos for the 5 days i'm there. Once again, thanks.

I'm a customer who doesn't get comps and hasn't been to Vegas in 5 years (so I've got you beat-LOL). I got a very low rate for IP and booked it, but the more I read about the construction it became offputting to me. I decided to pay more and stay at Bally's.

Yeah, the construction is a turn-off. And O'Shea's is not longer there. What i might do is stay at Bally's and then walk across to Bellagio then CP then cross the street back to wherever the construction ends. I used to like O'Shea's for the food court.

    Ballys vs IP

We were just at IP for the Human Nature show and the construction is a mess. Highly recommend Ballys over IP at the moment.

The price difference isn't that much. I stayed at IP last year and Ballys this year- Ballys hands down. That hotel is so much easier to navigate. IP has to be the only hotel I ever have stayed at that they give you a map and a 5 minute spiel about how to get to your room. We still got lost.

"go around the corner and get on the escalator up, turn the corner and there will be another escalator, but don't take that one- walk down the hall and take the escalator there, then take the elevator up to your floor."

"Ummm, what? You guys really like to screw with the drunks, don't you?"

Depending on which Bally tower your in you will get a great view and all the sounds of the construction.

the construction at IP is not a problem for me and my friends and I have been there 3 times since feb. I love the hotels, I love the balconies and the down home atmosphere. and its cheap and right in the middle of the strip

I was in the North Tower at Bally's in June and had an earful of the noise and a perfect view of the site.

Other than the construction, the IP would be fine it you were looking for a cheap hotel with a great location.
I think if you have never stayed at the IP, now is not the time to do it. The construction may turn you off. Stick with Bally's.

I'm not comped either. I had the same options in front of me and I picked Bally's because of the LINQ construction.

Construction started May 1st if I remember right. We left april 28th and they starting tearing down O'Sheas may 1st if I remember right. I think the parking garage was imploded the 30th of april though.

Depending on where you are located in IP you may be able to totally avoid the noise. However for the small price difference, I would take Ballys this trip. If it were $400 for Ballys & $100 for IP, my tune would change in a hurry & I would just say to make sure you request a quiet room. But in this small of a price situation, take Ballys.

I guess it also depends on how often you make it to Vegas. If you live across the country and make it out once a year. Maybe shell out a few extra sheckles to enjoy your home base a little more.

The dirt cheap price of IP always arouses the deal seeker in me - but I need to remember that every time I walk in there, and especially this past May when construction was in full force, I kept asking myself and my friends how anybody could actually stay here right now. Things are walled off, boarded up, plastic hanging to shield from construction - it really was tacky.

If you care about nothing more than the bed you lay on then go for it. But the area in and immediately around IP is pretty ugly right now. If Paris is your favorite casino, I see no reason to NOT do Ballys.

Plus dont they have that deal ongoing where you get 5 nights for $200 at Ballys and you can use them at once or in multiple trips through December?? I didn't see an expiration date on that email.

Our hotel room at the IP was clean. The A/C was cold and it had a comfortable bed. The worst thing was the horrible buffet.

My boyfriend and I stayed at IP this last April ... we were lured in by the free rooms with our rewards points too .. and at first we didnt think it was bad but, we had a non smoking room and are both smokers even, but the stench, dampness, bedding or something made my boyfriend sick as a dog. We had to sleep with the balcony door open to keep fresh air coming in. You get what you dont pay for sometimes. We are going back in 2 weeks and chose Ballys :)

    Let's see:
Earn 1 Reward Credit for every $5.00 you play on a reel slot machine.
Earn 1 Reward Credit for every $10.00 you play on a video poker machine.

Thus, you get $0.01c for $5 at slots; And to get to tier 2 you need 4000 credits. ok, sounds good to me. Which is why %90 of players do not go above tier 1.

Oh, and if you do not put 1 credit in 6 months, you lose everything!

Less than 12% of customers achieve premium status.
7-Star customers make of 1/10th of 1% of the total database but contribute 10% of Tracked Play.
The following table details the distribution of Total Rewards customers across the four tiers.

    Tier %
    Gold 88.6%
    Platinum 6.5%
    Diamond 4.7%
    7-Star 0.1%

So why does it seem like at least half this board gets their rooms comped?
