Vegas Newbie in 15 Days!

Hi All....I'm Jenn from CT. Traveling to Vegas for the first time in just 15 days! Can't wait!!

Arriving 8/5 (my birthday) and staying until 8/10. I have a "city room" at Cosmopolitan booked (fingers crossed for an upgrade!).

Having never been I'm looking for any advice on "musts"...must sees, must eats, must places to gamble, etc.

Very excited....just wish the days would go by a bit faster!

In and Out burger is always my first stop as it is for some others on here. Not fine dining but....
Also, downtown (Fremont) is a must check out. Some people REALLY love Fremont and others really LOVE the strip, most of us LOVE it all. You will be happy no matter where you visit and it's tough to check out everything in one trip. Just have fun.

View from top of Strat or Voodoo Lounge at the Rio
Top end hotel/casinos Wynn, Caesars, Bellagio, ARIA, Venetian, Mandalay Bay..ect

Good Cheap eats around you:
Earl of Sandwich(24hrs) in Planet Hollywood
Mon Ami Gabi for breakfast in Paris
Hash House a go go for breakfast in Imperial Palace

I agree, the Fountains at Bellagio are amazing. I could sit there are night and watch!

You will have a great time no matter what you do. My first trip there we spent most of our time walking the strip visiting all the hotels just to check them out.

I arrive a day after you and share your excitement like it was my 1st Vegas trip and not my 9th! Best of luck to you!!!

 

I'll be showing up 2 days after you and leaving the day after! Gonna be my 3rd time there though. The New York, New York roller coaster is fun if you're into that and Fremont street can be pretty cool. Go at night when they have the light shows and stuff going on. Happy Birthday!

 

We're there a week after you and the excitement is building..... Don't plan too much...just go where you want, when you want. If you want to see a show, check out the Tix4Tonite booths. Agree that Hash House A Go Go is a great thing to try. Just remember the portions are crazy big and it's ok to share. You can also get Restaurant.com certificates for it to help with the cost. Can get $10 good for breakfast or a $25 good for dinner. Google for the current discount code to get a $25 for about $2-$4. For snack type food you can also google Las Vegas coupons and get bogo's for Nathans, Haagen Dazs, NY Pretzel, etc. Mon Ami Gabi is a great place to relax and see the B fountain shows and also just people watch.

Thanks for all the well wishes and great ideas! I can't believe that in two weeks I'll be waking up for the first time on the strip. I'll be sure to post a report once I get back, after I catch up on all the sleep I'll probably miss while I'm there!!

I'm curious....I've heard there are A LOT of buffets out there. Which one is the best?? I've heard a lot of opinions, but I'd like to see what's most recommended!

 

Hi and welcome aboard! I'm not a big buffet person and haven't been to very many but I did find the Wynn buffet very good. It's a little pricey but I thought it was well worth it.
