Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Tampa now boost being the 6th largest casino in the world!
So who would be #1-5? Are any of them in Las Vegas?

    Largest as in...........
    Square feet?
    Number of machines?
    Number of Rooms?
    Acreage?

I would say Atlantis is right up there. MGM Grand used to be the largest as far as number of rooms go, but that was back in the eighties IIRC.

They're stats talk about the Casino - The number of Machines, Table Games & Sq Footage only. I figured Atlantis
was in the top 5 but I'm not really sure the casino is all that large. I visited once for about an hour back in 2008.

The Atlantis in the Bahamas or the one in Reno? The one in the Bahamas didn't seem that big as far as Casino floor IMHO. Can't really remember the Reno one much, too many beers.

Just to give an idea of size for comparison: MGM Grand in Las Vegas is 170,000 square feet of casino space.

The two biggest casinos in the world are in Macao: The Ventian (546,000 square feet of casino space) and City of Dreams (420,000 square feet)

After that it depends how you count Mohegan Sun (350,000 square feet) because they have their casinos broken up in to the Casino of the Earth, Casino of the Sky and Casino of the Wind - if you count that as one then they are next.

The next one is Foxwoods at 340,000 square feet and then its back to Macao for Casino Ponte 16 at 270,000 square feet.

The fifth (or sixth, depending on how you count) would be Tusk Rio in South Africa at 266,000 square feet.

Then it would be back to Macao for the MGM Grand Macao at 221,000 square feet.

The latest expansion at Seminole Hard Rock is supposed to push them just above the 221,000 square feet point and so that'd be the casino they are displacing in taking 6th (7th?) place.

Personally, I think MGM Grand's casino is huge and some of these sizes just seem ridiculous being as much as three times as big as that... but then on the other hand the casinos in Macao have a lot more table games and those use up more space than slots do (to compare: City of Dreams at 420,000 square feet has 1,300 slot machines and 520 table games/poker tables... compared to MGM Grand in Las Vegas, at a little more than a third the size, has 2,300 slot machines and 178 table games/poker tables).

The wife and I went to Winstar a couple of months ago and the casino is huge. Definetly larger than any casino in Vegas.

That list sucks. Where's Mandalay? Where's Sante Fe Station?? There are a few AC properties missing as well.
