im notsure if people are still aware of this but if your not staying with them and do a bunch of gambling they will but do food comps on your mlife acoount so you dont have to use express comps.
i had mgm put a buffet one nite and wolfgang puck another and belliago can do the buffet with having to ask a host.just like the old days with paper comps.
cant get cet properties to that ,they make me use what ever they give in my account

yes after playing for a while i think Around 2 hours i was up about 2 or 3 grand.asked when the colored me up if i can get some food for tommorrow ,its takes a few minutes but they all can do buffets ,wolfgang puck was approved i gues by some floor person when i came back the next day and played again, all they said was present the mlife card and it will be in your account, went to buffet and they put the card in and and came up comp buffet and wolfgangs had 50 dollar credit in there towards dinner, they just swiped it and all i did was leave a tip.

ps i just the beging level in the mlife card what ever that is ,i just made saphire at the end of the trip.
at belliagio the pit boss said i can do buffets with no problem if i wanted anything else ask a host.

its done the same way it used to when they had paper comps, just ask the pit guy at the end and if your play deserves it they will give you food and this had no effect on my express comps

I just got back from Vegas last night - Wolfgang Puck is not affiliated with MGM so I am surprised you could get comped there - when I ate there last week I had to present my receipt to the MLife Players desk to get the points added to my account, and I also had a resort dining credit at Aria and was told I could use it at any restaurant at Aria but not at Crystals since it is a separate entity and is not directly affiliated with MGM....the staff at Wolfgang Puck said they had no way of processing Mlife Cards or putting points on them so you cannot use express comps in Crystals. And I have a gold card lol

i know alot of place arent directly owned like the hardrock wont ccmp out NOBU ,but all i did was ask as i did the buffdet the nite before and it was in my card.the just swiped it and it was done. at wolfgangs the took the mlife card and used like a credit card .i had no problem.

on a side note i dont smoke but a guy at my table wanted a cigar and they did a comp for that .i belive it was like 30$

I think the OP might have been referring to the Wolfgang Puck inside MGM, not the one in Crystals.

Oh! That makes sense then! You had mentioned dealing with a Bellagio host so I didn't realize that you meant MGM the hotel and not MGM Resorts....that makes me feel a lot better about not being able to use my resort credit at Crystals lol

I have a tough time asking. I might could ask my host at the B but they already give me a good size FB credit so I feel like Minnie the Moocher. Is that bad?

You said the buffet comp was already on your card? Are you sure you didnt just use your express comps? After all when they swipe your card and see you had built up express comps on it, and enough to cover what you are buying, its paid for by the house and just comes off your express comp balance.

I have never heard of MGM being able to put something on your card for a free buffet.

100 percent positive.did not use express comps for any meal.ps rember i wasnt staying at any of there properties so no host could take anything exra off my hotel stay.
they also added a specific comp for wolfgangs puck and when i payed i gave the server my mlife card and she said you have 50$ to cover your meal here and payed tip in cash.

Thanks for the info. Nothing surprising there but interesting to read how it is working in practise. If Express Comps represent about 1/3 of overall comps earned then every $10 in ECs earned leaves another unused $20 behind for those playing at MGM properties while staying elsewhere.

I was already thinking about this as I am staying at Bally's next trip but will be giving a few MGM casinos some decent BJ play.

paperposter - what sort of play had you given when you asked for the comps -average bet, hours. Thanks.

they always used to do this before express comps. you could go into the host office and ask for a food comp or buffet comp and they'd put the amount on your card. you'd present the card and the free buffet or $X food at some restaurant would come up. so i assume they can still do this even though they do have express comps as well.

my play was all bj .i would say at mgm first nite 2 plus hours at 100 a hand minium same as nite 2 at mgm .it would vary depending on how hot the shoe was but it was a 100 $ minimum table ,so i would say by the time i was done i probly avarage 150-200 a hand.also i won both nites i got the comps around 2 -3 grand each nite.i did tell them i wasnt stay at there properties so i asked if i can get some food.

    beliagio i was doing 100 to 800 a hand at bj but wostly 2 hands at 200 a hand.took a quick 5 grand loss.

also the palms will do paper comps if your not staying there and the hrdrock used to not sure with there new program if they will.always ask they can always so no

Thanks. I will stick with Bellagio, Mirage, Aria and MGM for the rules I look for. I'll see what I can get next trip.
