For the first time, I received a comped offer from the Mirage that includes free limo transportation to and from the casino. I usually take a cab, and i am an above average tipper (25% +), but limos are new to me. What is considered a decent tip on a comped limo ride?
    Thanks.

We've had limos and cars from Mandalay Bay, Aria, and Monte Carlo. A little shorter ride than you're looking at, but we've always done $20. That's without any stops or special treatment. Just the ride there.

I usually rent a vehicle, but recently was in town for just 24hrs. and my host had the Hard Rock Escalade pick me up at the airport and take me back the next morning. I tipped $20 each way and that seemed to be appropriate.

I always tip $20.00 and that usually includes a quick stop at the liquor store.
And the driver has always seemed very appreciative of the tip.

A Vegas chauffer that I follow on Twitter tells his clients, if they ask, that they should tip whatever their standard Blackjack wager is.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but that's what he suggests to clients that ask how much to tip.

Agree - we've had limos from Mandalay Bay and Aria. We tip $20 for door-to-door, nonstop transport. If we ask the driver to make a brief stop en route, we tip $30.

I say $20 for a normal limo short ride between properties, $30 for a nicer stretch limo or a slightly longer ride, $40 if you are dropping off one or two stops or if it is a nice limo like a rolls or a maybach.

It is all about time to the limo drivers, they get a certain number of pickups a day because they are usually on rotation (they will actually tell a guy to park and another guy to come up even if the limo is empty if he just had a pickup and the other guy hasn't had one that day). So the longer you spend their time, the more you should tip them because they could be getting another customer and another tip.

no way i'm tipping that much for a limo ride. $20 is enough for most short rides up to $40 for longer rides or if there are more people.

Are you getting cheap on us?:evillaugh

I think $20-40 (depending on distance, stops, etc as others have mentioned) is a good one way tip.

Considering my avg bet for this trip is 15k ;) I think the limo driver might have a heart attack....

About the dumbest thing I ever heard. For exactly the SAME service, a driver could get anywhere from $5 to thousands of dollars.

Seems like whenever this comes up, $20 is the norm. Which is about the same as a taxi ride, with tip. A little extra for stops at store or lots of bags.

We stay downtown and have two checked bags total. We tip $20 each way and the driver seems happy.

Last two trips after tipping the driver, he asked when we were going back and if was OK for him to arrange for our pickup back to the airport. They either liked our sparkling personalty, or were happy with the tip. Two different drivers.

Same here. Whenever hotels have provided free limo service for me I have always tipped $20 each way, and I think it is a fair amount.

    Thanks for the help

Thank you for your help. I think I'll go with at least a $20, and possible $40 depending on the service. I'm a slot player, so the blackjack bet idea won't help me. Everybody, thanks again.
