I've only been to the Aria a couple of times for a few minutes. What am I missing.

If you're a poker player and haven't played in the Aria Poker Room yet, I highly suggest you do.

It is by far my favorite room in town. Super comfy chairs, nice tables and chips, dealers are solid, and you can order any drink you can think of (seriously, top shelf too, get creative!), complimentary while playing of course, and it will be delivered by a super-hot, beatiful cocktail waitress.

Oh, and their tourneys are some of the best in town!

I LOVE exploring there. Go check out Crystals, it's cool to walk around in there, and see all the crazy expensive stores, and the neat architecture.

Cosmopolitan is very impressive. If you haven't been in there. The Chandelier bar! Also had an awesome dinner at Holsteins Burgers :)

Vdara is my favorite hotel right now. (don't visit, unless you are staying, not much going on)

Aria has a great casino, it's my favorite place to gamble currently. Also they have many great restaurants. Julian Serrano is my favorite so far. Also it's actually really nice to have a basic lunch in Cafe Vettero.

I think overall CityCenter is just "cool". Since it opened me and my family and friends gravitate there. also for some reason I enjoy the fact that it's WAY over the top, and seriously ridiculous considering the state of Las Vegas and the economy, it's really quite a statement.

Check out the bar on the 23rd floor of the Mandarin Oriental, especially at night. Impressive views on all three sides.

A descrition is in an earlier TR of mine, it you're interested. (Day 3)

The MO is a pretty good hike out the the Strip from the Aria, but you're probably making that walk, anyway.

    GL and Best Wishes.

Go outside and ride the free tram from Bellagio to Monte Carlo. You'll get an awesome view of the architecture that is City Center. Then go inside Cosmo and find the hidden pizza place and enjoy yourself!

As others have said, the architecture - it is indeed spectacular if you like contemporary/modern. Plus, there's lots of little things to look at & notice if you take the time to wander & linger and not just quickly blow through on the way to the tables or dinner.

If you can afford the minimums, IMO Carta Privada is the coolest high-limit room in town.

Sage & Julian Serrano are two of the best restaurants in Vegas right now.

The suites are something to behold - great views, cool decor, and most of all, fun technology [if you enjoy tinkering with stuff like that] - but of course, you'll need to stay there to enjoy that aspect of Aria.

I did the art tour and loved it and I'm not even into art that much. I ended it with the Manderin Oriental Bar, which Bazzito mentioned has amazing views. I ended the tour at night, so the view was amazing.

I find City Center kinda boring. I do like the tram and love the free wifi.
Someone mentioned the Cosmo I thought that wasn't part of City Center.

Ill second the post mentioning the poker room at Aria, now THAT is how a poker room should be! Great new tables/chairs/chips etc plus as already mentioned top shelf drinks served to you by stunning but more importantly pleasant waitresses, the place just oozes class without being to 'up itself'. By far my fave room in town. Also if staying there the little in room gadget that controls everything from the tv to the temp in the room is pretty cool, didnt think much of the buffet mind you but that was the only negative I found during my stay at Aria.
Cosmo is another fine hotel and the chandelier bar is awesome! No poker room which was a big disappointment for me during my stay but the suites are stunning, especially if you get a bellagio fountain view, breathtaking. Once again tho i wasnt impressed with the buffet (Wicked Spoon) but overall I am very impressed with City Center :nworthy:

The bar isn't just for guests? They let anybody on the 23rd floor?

Cosmo is not apart of CityCenter but I could definitely see CityCenter riding on the coattail of Cosmo's success! FIrst time tourists will be nonethewiser. That's what happens when you make all the architecture boring and "contemporary"...they all look alike.

Cosmo's success is only skin deep. They are a financial trainwreck. I would agree however, that to a vegas tourist, Cosmo and Aria are both outstanding.

True on the architecture comment. I've been to Vegas twice since CityCenter was built, walked through there numerous times, and still don't know which hotel I'm in when I'm there. I also couldn't point out in a picture which buildings were which if someone asked me.

For a city filled with unbelievably unique and characteristic hotels, the design of the CityCenter buildings lost something to me. No unique personality for each, just a modern, bland look that screams "I have money and care about looking trendy and chic." You can go to most cities in the world and find buildings that have that same look and design. I expected more of people designing a multi-billion dollar complex to sit smack in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip.

At least that's my personal opinion. I'm sure many disagree.

I was able to go to the 23rd floor and look at the art and see the view. But I was at the tea lounge, my mistake. However I see no reason you couldn't go to the bar. I've been to the bar at the MO in NYC and was not a guest.

Yep. They let just anybody in.

After all, "It doesn't cost any more to go first class. You just dont' get to stay very long."
