Most places charge for in room wifi, whether it be a direct billing or "included" with your 'resort fee'. Those connections are fairly good.
At the Golden Nugget, it depends on what tower you are staying in for wifi service in your room. Flamingo appears to have wifi optional in all their rooms. Not sure about Bills though.

I take my HP TouchPad to connect with the outside world via wifi, but I only use those free wifi hotspots(I'm on vacation and don't see the reason for me to pay, seeing as how I'm only online briefly). Such as at most coffee shops, StarBucks, McDonalds, and at various casino's. The list is stickied here https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61843

If you're speaking of cellular data, which I think you are, you may have some issues. I turn my phone into a mobile hotspot and often have issues within the hotel room. It's usually resolved by placing the phone closer to the window. In my situation, this is fairly easy to do (leave the phone near the window but the computer on the desk). But in your situation, you might not want to/be able to use the computers near the window. I can't speak for Bill's or Golden Nugget but speak from experience at the Flamingo.

Had problems with this at Ballys... no issues anywhere else.

anyone know if I can get a 4G (or even 3G) wireless signal in the strip hotel rooms. bringing my netbook and have a att wireless hotspot. staying at flamingo and bill's for 10 days and will need service for work and would like to be able to work in my room. would be nice if I can get service and not have to pay 15.00 a day for internet service, would be a couple of good meals in place of paying the hotel for the internet.

3G/4G connections were VERY slow at THEHotel / Mandalay Bay property last month. Many pages would not even load as I kept getting messages saying the connection has timed out.

Their own network was bad enough but the 3G/4G was no better. My wife has to use her own network on her work laptop for security reasons. It was frustrating just to watch her get through the maze of slow pages and often having to start over since many pages would time out or reset since the connection was so slow.

I agree with the above within the rooms and hallways. ATT 3G was very spotty within the rooms at Mandalay Bay and The Hotel.

On the casino floor I don't recall having any issues with the 3G connection. I checked email, facebook, internet searches with no issues that I can remember. I know I uploaded a lot of facebook pics all over Vegas. Most hotels have repeaters for cel phones and that obviously helps.

I do remember Aria was a complete blackout as far as signal strength though. I think it was Aria. City center is one big hotel in my head. :evillaugh

AT&T coverage sucks most everywhere, but definitely in Vegas. i've never had problem getting 4G on Verizon anywhere in the city including my hotel rooms.

If you do have to pay for internet at Flamingo I'm pretty sure it is wired only.

I have no experience with 4G. 3G was usable if all you needed was email. I don't think I would want to do a lot of web browsing. It reminded me of using the edge network.

This was on the Bills side of the building, around floor 15 or so I think.

It is entirely possible their LTE(I assume that is what you mean by 4G) is better, as it can't be much worse than their 3G.

One tip would be to ask for a room close to the elevators. I was always getting a signal there, so maybe ATT has repeaters somewhere near the elevators.

Flamingo does have wireless in the rooms for $13 or $14 per day, per device.

When I was in Flamingo 2 weeks ago, my Sprint 3G was worthless. I was getting less than 100kbps in the room. Sprint has pretty slow 3G speeds anyway, but usually it's 7-10 times faster than that!
