Slot players with Mlife

I hear so much about CET being mostly for slot players and Mlife is better for table players.

The problem with me is I like MGM properties over CET properties. However, as a CET member (A CET casino is 15 minutes from my home) I can play more when I want on their card and I like BJ mostly at $15/hand.


How do you slot only players fare with Mlife? Do you think you get decent offers from just slots and all?

I know Mlife has been on the ropes with a lot of people lately but I would like to try the Mlife system.

 

My wife and I are mostly slot players, lower rollers overall, and we get great offers from MLife.

For your situation one possibility you could do is:
- When in Las Vegas play mostly at MGM properties.
- When at home play at your local CET casino.
- Use MLife to get free rooms and free play in Las Vegas at MGM properties.
- Build up Reward Credits on your Total Rewards card at your home casino, but spend them on things like dinner or shopping while in Las Vegas.
- If you need more nights in Las Vegas than MLife will comp you up front then split your stay and spend a couple of nights at CET property.

 

Both programs have benefits

As slot players, we participate in various rewards programs. The key for us is to concentrate play with one program per day rather than play at unrelated properties on the same day. Also concentrating play on only one card per program, per day, offers some higher comp levels than with both of us playing on our own card.

If we are using a comp offer from a particular program for rooms we try to keep our play focused on their related properties.

Having been screwed several years ago by the Venetian cutback on room comps we learned never to concentrate all our play with only program so as to always keep other options open. Loyalty works both ways (or should)!

No other program has ever offered us the benefits of CET's Total Rewards as far as the rewards credits or room offers but MLife has come close with some good offers. Will achieve MLife Gold level there on my next visit.

Being only 15 minutes away from a CET property has advantages but do you really need a comp room there? Using your locally earned TR rewards credits in Las Vegas and receiving comp room offers there would be a plus by keeping some level of play showing in Las Vegas and to keep your vacation costs down.

We definitely try to stay away from independent properties were we won't achieve any benefits from our play (Tropicana, Terribles, Hooters, Treasure Island, Golden Nugget, etc). or the big ones where our play won't even be recognized.

As low rollers we receive room and slot play offers from Stations Casinos, Boyd, MLife, as well as CET. Even M Resort has given us some good offers.

In over 25 visits to Las Vegas I don't think we have paid for a room in over 10years with an average stay of 7-10 days per visit. That combined with low out of pocket food costs (using comp dollars) permit more dollars to indulge in slots.

 

Past Diamond at CET that has moved to MGM. I think they treat us great. If you are a small time player, maybe not so much. CET will give out comp rooms if you just smile at a slot machine.

 

My Aunt and Uncle were Plat. at both and they let the Plat. go at CET and just stick a few in to keep it alive and they get almost the same offers as when they pumping in thousands. Now Mlife gives them 4 nights and $500FP and $300FB and buy one get one tix at any MGM property this summer. That is something they say they never got across the street. I talked them in to leaving Bally's and moving to Bellagio with me and they are loving Vegas again after 40+ years of coming out here together. They did stay at Bally's a long time out of loyalty because my Unc won a Harley on a slot there in the 90's. Remember when they had Harley's twirling around up there. I sure miss that. And the cars suck now too. I think MGM has Audis or something :Þ on that! Sorry for the momentary hijack. From their POV not mine they really love the Mlife benefits over what CET was doing for them. They did love the host they had at Bally's but she could not match the Mlife offers.

 

I know others have made that disctinction before (slot vs table players), but really I think its more of small players vs medium and above where the distinction is.

If you play high enough at any game (table/slots/VP), there will be a point where your CET offers sort of plateau, but mLife continues to give more. But if you are a low enough roller, CET might throw you rooms where mLife ignores you.

CET gets the table games rep as much for their generally bad BJ rules as for their players club. But with the clubs its still the same: CET will start giving free rooms sooner, but once you get above the point where both clubs do it, mLife will give you more.

 

I am a slot player only. Most of my play has gone to Wynn, CET, Venetian and B connected. I know I should not spread it around but I like variety. I have only stayed at Bellagio two days this year. I am only Pearl. My rooms and food are always paid for when I leave. My offers E mail offers are not that great. I get room from $79-99. I know they are free when I leave but it just bugs me to pay when the Wynn is giving me $300 in free play with my rooms and CET will comp everything. I will still Bellagio some play because they have a machine I like. I think many of my points are from dinning. I do like Mlife restaurants.

MLife is decent for slot players. The big difference that I've seen is that CET doesn't care which casino you play slots. I can spread them around and say at Paris. MGM 2ish years ago hated that kindof play. MLife is slightly better, but it is still questionable if I get a decent offer in one quarter or the next.

If you play at mostly 1 casino, I think MLife is fine. I'm referring to someone with a bankroll of ~$300 or more. Rooms may not be completely free, but they will be discounted, and then you can apply express comps at the end. You will pay more, but I think the concensus on the board is that lower level MGM properties are better than lower level CET properties, hence a higher price.

 

I'm definitely in the pro MLIFE camp and I only play slots. I get great offers from them and I love their properties. I don't play much at CET properties (an hour here or there) and they've offered me a couple nights for it but on select weekdays at CP, PH, Paris and any day of the week at IP, Bally's and Harrahs. I'm not sure what they would offer if I concentrated my play there but I really don't like their properties enough to want to stay at any of them.

 

I play mostly slots/vp with a little table games thrown in. I have concentrated my play the last couple of years at Mlife properties. I still like to walk through CET properties, V/P, Wynncore, etc., but I save most of my bankroll for MGM. I do have my complaints about the system (only sending offers for one or two free nights and "special" rates otherwise), but my host at NYNY takes good care of me. Once you have established play with Mlife casinos, I always say to call or email VIP services/host and see what they will offer. It is normally much better than any offer on the Mlife site.
