Last Monday, we went to the El Cortez for three nights. I pulled into valet, took our stuff and checked in. When we got to the room, I realized that my DroidX was not with us. I figured that I left it in the car and would get it the next afternoon.

On Tuesday afternoon, I went to valet to get the car. The valet guy takes off and in a few minutes he comes flying into the check-in area. As I round the car to get in, I see the phone, it's on top of the lid of my trunk. Wow, I point to the phone so the valet guy could see it and he said that he had never seen that before. The phone was so HOT that I had to get a rag to pick it up.

It wouldn't turn on at all so I just left it alone in the cool car for about 15 minutes and bingo, it turned on. I thought, this is going to be my lucky trip. Boy was I wrong about that.

Do you have a screen protector on it? I have the Zagg Invisible Shield installed on all of my phones now because of one major advantage... it doesn't slide when it's on my center console. With the advances of cell phone glass, I'm not sure it would get scratched if it were bare, but the fact that it doesn't slide around when I pull it out of my pocket and put it face down on the center console of my F350 is worth the $20.

Either way, glad you found it and it came back to life!!!

No screen protector. I'm usually pretty gentle with stuff like that. It was screen side up and sat in the sun all that time. Valet at EC is outside parking. It was kind of stuck to the trunk lid.

No one is allowed in the valet lot except the valet guys that's why it wasn't stolen. It was a stupid mistake on my part.

Not to hijack Don, but I had a strange weather-related thing happen to my phone several weeks ago. There was a solar flare that came through sometime in early May and I happened to be outside with the screen of my (old-school) flip-phone opened up. The solar flare damaged the screen. Phone still works, but screen is now dysfunctional.
Finally got a different phone recently.
