Closest place to buy a few gallons of water when I stay at Paris?

I have seen a post about this before, but I can't find it! Isn't the closest place to buy a gallon of water at CVS at the Miracle Mile shops in PH? In this heat I need some water. I kinda do not want to go to far in the heat. The last time I was there in this heat, it was 117. I know the Walgreens is a walk from Paris. Ok, I ask the Vegas experts, where is the closest CVS of a place where I can buy fairly priced water. This is the first time I am going to fly, so I will have no car.

 

The ABC Store is in the MM Mall, and that would actually be closer.

 

After dehydrating really badly on a trip a few years ago, we always stop at the convenience store behind Bills on the way in from the airport. I buy a case of water for every day we will be there, just to be safe. Dehydration is no fun.

 

Next door is the MM shops with a few places. They are pretty open giving out bottles of water while gambling. We have actually bought water from the folks on the street. Dollar a bottle is not bad and it keeps somebody employed.

 

Another vote for the place behind bills. Fairly cheap too considering what you'd pay elsewhere.

I would second one of the two ABC stores inside the MM shops at the Planet HO they have had for years 1 liter bottles for $0.99.

I would not purchase any of the "$1" water they sell on the strip over passes and I have hear a number of people saying that it was refiled water bottles that they have been selling!

 

There's this tap thingy in the bathroom... I'm just sayin'.

Generally, I drink tap water the whole time in Vegas but OTOH last May I drank a glass of some stuff in the dark that turned out to be brown with silt.

I guess maybe I would revise my personal rule set to be 'tap water is generally okay to drink, but, like fruit, should not be consumed in the dark'.

 

I'm guessing anybody who is looking for bottled water has indeed seen water run in their room, but have a preference NOT to drink the LV Municipal Brand.....just sayin'

 

I doubt that anybody who has said or suggested they are refilled bottles has ever actually bought one and they just assume the worst.

Realistically, it would be too time consuming plus too much of a pain in the ass to be worth it to go root around in the trash to find a bunch of empty bottles, find a place to fill them up, then haul all those bottles to a store to get a couple of bags of ice and then lug it all the way back to The Strip. Then when you are sold out in an hour try and find some more bottles...

The more realistic is: take your cooler to a store and buy a 48 pack of bottled water for $6 and two bags of ice, walk a block to The Strip and sell it... then when sold out go back to the store and buy another 48 pack of water and 10-15 minutes later you are back to selling.

And if you really think about it:
- It seems like there would be a lot of places to fill bottles of water on The Strip, but the casinos will quickly figure out who the water sellers are and they aren't going to let them in or hang around and use their bathroom to fill bottles up.
- The casinos definitely aren't going to let people root around their garbage cans or circle the casino floor looking for empty water bottles.
- And then you can think: how many times have you ever seen anybody rooting around in a garbage can on The Strip either looking for food or bottles? I'm sure it happens from time to time or maybe at off hours, but I can say in all my trips to Las Vegas I have never once seen somebody digging around in the trash cans on The Strip and it wouldn't surprise me if they had a law that said anything put in the trash cans becomes the property of the county so removing anything would be considered stealing and thus enabling the police to get any people scrounging through garbage off The Strip.

 

At one point I thought maybe that was the deal. But, after a recent visit with too much walking in high temps, we bought some. If it is refilled, they also did a great job sealing the top as well.

Based on my experience, this were not refilled bottles.

 

I actually liked the water sellers but I believe they are now banned with the new reg - it let the costume characters & porn slappers stay but banned the water sellers. I always had brand new sealed bottles.

However, the new Walgreens below PH is only a short distance further than the ABC stores -I like the ABC stores a little bit but you will find a lot larger variety of things at the new PH as well as a ton of other snack or food items that you want also. If it's not 115 when we are there I will probably hit ABC for some chocolate covered macadamia nuts (or whatever it is) & then Walgreens for water, soda & juice. Mom will have the scooter so I can put the small stuff in her basket & carry the water. If it's 115 out we will skip chocolate covered ANYTHING!

I like the Paris casino in the summer - one of the day CWs brings you your drink AND a bottle of water. She has told me that she has seen people pass right off & fall off the stools - EMTs said they appeared to be dehydrated. So she always brings a bottle of water & your alcoholic beverage at same time. A+++++ to her!!

 

Personally, I love the outside water vendors. I've never had a "refilled" water bottle. You can tell by the sealed cap. I always find these folks very convienent especially in the summer months.

 

That TV show Vegas Strip on TruTV had the strip cops busting a guy selling Pabst Blue Ribbon if I remember right. He told them he was an unemployed bartender and he makes like $2 a can selling the beer on the over passes.

 

It must be new, I thought the closest walgreens was closer to MGM. I looked a google maps, and there is construction. It must be where they are doing that.

I was wrong in my initial post, I meant ABC stores.

 

There's a new Walgreens attached to PH right by the new pedestrian walkway over to the Harley cafe.

Just this week, the water vendors were still out on the overpasses. We've had fine luck with them as well.

At Paris, the CWs all had what looked like extra waters on their trays. I grabbed one more than once with my drink. I always tip for water just like I do for a drink; the bottle takes up room on their trays that could have been for another drink, so I figure it's only right. Plus, they sure did come around a lot faster that way.

 

We hit the Stage Door convenience store behind Bills across Flamingo from Ballys right after dropping off our bags, it is just a habit. If I remember right 16.9 oz. water for .59, 1 liter for .89 and gallon bottles was $1.19. And if your there pick up some beer, wine, liquor, snacks etc. If you you like an adventure hit the bar area for cheap VP, hot dogs, beer and shot of cheap whiskey .

Buy a Bobble water bottle (filtered water bottle) and bring it with you. It's my travel buddy. And ask the cocktail waitresses for a bottle of water and your alcoholic drink. I do this when I don't feel like carrying my bobble.
