    Hey Folks,
Will be going to mecca late next week with the family. Our (3) teens are going to the 6pm Recycled Percussion show, so daddy and I will be waiting for them, probably at a bar.

I haven't spent much time at all at the Trop but have read several places about high drink prices. We would be looking for a low profile place with reasonable prices just to have a drink while they are at the 1 hour show. I'm diamond at CET and pondered walking to the DL at PH, but for just an hour, plus dinging my ADT, certainly doesn't seem worth it.

My husband doesn't like to gamble (go figure) so won't be getting "free" drinks at the machines. Just a decent place to hang for an hour and have a beer or two.

    Really appreciate any advice!

There really isn't a bar in the trop...

Sort of, tho, the area to the right as you walk in the casino, past the elevators.

Drink prices r high at most bars and 6 is generally too late for most happy hour prices...and an hour doesn't give ou much time to venture elsewhere....maybe coyote ugly at nyny might have some drink deals at that time & it usually isn't very busy at that time

Why don't you just sit at your favorite machine or table game to play and then when the cocktail waitress comes around ask for 2 bud lights (or whatever you're drinking) as you hand her $2 and I doubt you will have any problem getting a drink for you and your husband.

Another idea might be to go to the sports book and ask the cocktail lady there if her drinks are just for tips.

Sitting in a keno lounge is my last idea that I can think of for you ...

You could try RC's recommendations or take a 2 min walk to hooters.

drinks start from $1.50 at all bars in the joint.

Casino Bar is located (i hope its still there one trip it wasn't and 3-4 months later it was) right infront of the entrance.

Mad Onion Lounge / Bar is located to your left as you walk in across from check in. Nice vibe and you really feel like your at a completely different casino with the lounge atmosphere.

Hooters bars i believe theres 2 one on the left and the other on the right near the back of the casino. Complete with bar top poker and blackjack just in case your husband gets curious

you can easily burn an hour at hooters on the cheap

and depending on what time your boys get out of the show....

From midnight -6am they serve .25cent wings (with players club 50cents without)

Thanks guys, I had a feeling the bar situation there was limited. Since it is only an hour, and we have dinner plans at Casa di Amore afterwards, we will probably just sit at a couple of VP machines and order drinks. He can sometimes be coaxed into playing some nickels, go figure!

    Appreciate all the advice!

Yep, Coyote Ugly has 2 for 1's until 9pm I believe. May not be the atmosphere you're looking for, but it's one of the better happy hour/deals I've found.
