I am trying to compile a list of restaurants on the strip, and on fremont street, that are not too hard on the pocket book, for the group of ladies that I will be in Vegas with.
    Lunch: $10-15
Dinner $15-25 Would love places that have steak or prime rib specials that may not be advertised but are known about to some.

Breakfast everyone on their own, but Denny's and IHOP would be great even for lunch. Even interested in those late night specials.

Wow... cheap eats on the strip are becoming rare. I have heard great things about a place called witch craft at MGM. Also about 1 LONG block off the strip behind Bally's is Ellis Island. Good food and prices. They have a $7.99 steak special not on the menu. Between Harrah's and Casino Royal is a little place with Chapotle, McD's and Panda Express.

I am sure others can offer more ideas.

If you happen to find yourselves Downtown try the Redwood Grill at the California Hotel. Dinner might be on the high side of your budget but value wise its a good deal. The dining enviroment is cozy and comfortable and service is good. They have a porterhouse steak special for $24.00.

Also in the Cal is the Market St. Cafe. They have a prime rib special for under 10 bucks that includes starch, vegetables, and dessert. After 2 a.m. they have a new york steak special for 4.99 but that price might have gone up.

Hope other members chime in because I'm sure there are more specials and deals all over Downtown establishments.

I agree with the Ellis Island special (I haven't had a bad one yet and have eaten it at least 5 times.) It is a hike though if you don't have a car.
In N Out burger, can't go wrong (super duper low rolling but worth it).
Any lunch or dinner at Margaritaville should still be within your set limits and loads of fun. One you add on a beverage or two however you can easily find yourself over budget. Stick with beer and you should be fine, haha.
Fremont always has cheaper options but again, you need to bus or something to get there. Triple 7 brewpub is hard to beat.

Unfortunately many of the moderately priced specials have gone away. I am not one of the fortunate few who afford to go out to eat at a place like Craftsteak, where you end up with a $100PP bill without alcohol.

As such, I've resorted to eating at the following places:
    In-N-Out
    Panda Express
    Sonic
    Earl of Sandwich
    Maggiano's
    Palms buffet (cheap)
    Secret Pizza

And sadly, that's about the end of my list. Going to check out the link a poster above provided, but I too am hoping some others have moderately priced suggestions close to the Strip.

I know what you mean!! Alot of the restaurants like Craftsteak would cost more than my grocery budget for 2 weeks at home!! I like my corn fed beef here in Nebraska, so I am not expecting top of the line steak for $9.99 but I certainly wont pay 60 for one either. I basically want some food to absorb alcohol, and keep me energized for all the walking...I can grill me up a nice juicy home raised steak when I get back. I just want edible food, and dont want to go to buffets everyday in vegas and dont want to spend alot of money.

I can't overemphasize the the use of the coupons available from a link here on this board. They have buy one get one coupons for pizzas, Nathan's (who have chicken fingers and burgers too...) and a couple other places. I apologize for not having the link, but I'm almost certain a quick search here on VMB you will be able to find them. It makes the strip prices reasonable. Just make sure you read the back to know where they are good to use.

Also, at Bally's, their taco restaurant has 2 dollar tacos and margaritas. It's not the finest Mexican food, but it was much better than I expected for 2 bucks!

And I did go to craftsteak last weekend...it was 300 bucks for 2!

I don't use them, so I forget about them, but Blueskadoo is right. Here is a link to some downtown coupons:

    password is realvegas.

Also check out Restaurant.com for Strip places and wait for the sales they have on coupons.

Don’t be afraid to share dishes either. Serving sizes in Vegas are certainly no smaller than anywhere else in the country…which is to say far larger than they need to be. Someone mentioned the nachos at Margaritaville…one order of those is easily a full lunch for two for anyone smaller than an NFL lineman.

LOL I hope you dont have to eat tuna sandwiches for the next month!! I do have to ask tho, if it was the best steak you ever had, and if it leaves your mouth watering to go back and have another?

I have dreams about the warm frisee salad at Craftsteak…let alone the meat!

That said, you do not have to spend ridiculous money to get a great meal. If you were to learn the bus routes, I’m sure that would open up some great off-strip places as well.

Check out The Pub at Monte Carlo. Very good pub grub at reasonable prices and a large beer selection. I believe they have some really good happy hour deals too.

Also, did anyone mention restaurant.com yet? Check that out for some coupons/certificates…but go through this site so Sonya gets some love.

To be honest, yes. It was heavenly. We could've done it much cheaper by sharing one steak and a few sides, but we decided we should just "live a little" and did the chef's tasting. We had tons of food. Four apps, 2 steaks, and three sides. It is easily the best steak I've had. The apps and sides were equally amazing. If I were to go again, though, I'd be more conservative and order less food. By the time we got our four (yes, four!) desserts, we were too full to really enjoy them.

If you want to be a little spendy without breaking the bank...I reccomend Charlie Palmer Steak at the Four Seasons. They do a cut of the week prix fixe menu with unlimited wine for 48 bucks. You may not always get steak, and you have to be a little open-minded, but its never let me down. It's my favorite bargain steakhouse.

Actually I forgot about restaurant.com. All the restaurants they offer around me in Mass pretty much suck, but one time I went out there and purchased a few for restaurants inside Mandalay Bay. They have an overpriced breakfast place in THEhotel that was absolutely delicious (get the custard pancakes!), and with the GC from restaurant.com, it made it affordable.

    Thanks for the reminder.
