    All,

I'll be taking my 3rd trip to vegas but first one for golf. Going with one of my friends and looking to play 2 rounds. Anyone have any recommendations for great courses preferably in the $75-$150 range? Any courses with the big WOW factor? We'll also be renting a car which i beleive will be better???

Any help is appriciated. I'm a new member to the forum as well.

    Thanks,
    -Tusc

    Three words: Las Vegas Paiute.

Play twice there. Snow Mountain and Wolf.

    PDF of rates/specials

TPC Las Vegas. Peaks at $129 at its summertime-highest rack rate.

    All Booked....

We're playing Paiute Wolf then taking the drive to Wolf Creek which I assume will be well worth it!!!!

Aside from the heat....I wish I was going tomorrow.

Yes yes yes. I go with a group of guys that have played all over the country, and to a man, we all say it's the most dramatic course we have played.

Although you've already booked, I must mention another one I first played earlier this spring. Coyote Springs is North of Vegas, not sure how far but I know it's 45 minutes from Mesquite. In February we booked a Mesquite golf package and Coyote Springs was part of it as well as Wolfcreek.

I must say Coyote Springs was an experience, and from both foursomes none of us had ever played a Nicklaus designed course. Quite an experience! We got mixed reviews from our groups, some loved it and some 'eh" with one actually hated it. I personally enjoyed the beauty of the course with many waterfalls with lots of rockwork. The pin placements on the greens were tricked up quite a bit where on one hole two of us actually putted it off the green and had to chip it back on.

I'd love to hear what Ken2v's assessment of this course.

    Have a blast!

He recommends it all the time. He will say, "Hurry and play it though. No telling how long it will be there."

I totally agree with that. Forgot to mention ....... Million dollar course with a five buck clubhouse! What's with that?

Play it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To me it is THE non-Shadow play in/around Vegas. And that says a lot given how I feel about Paiute.

Another newer option in Mesquite is Conestoga. There's finally a way to play two great courses in "Mistake, NV" and not have to drive up to St. Geo.

Wolf indeed is mind-blowing. The only real downside to the joint is the consistently horrid service. Those folks have 'tudes like they invented 'em.

Conestoga has some "breathtaking" holes you won't see often anywhere! Ken, I agree with you about the Wolfcreek staff. That's the reason we've only played it once, so this winter/spring I'm having somebody else in our group do the arrangments with those rude folks.

Mesquite or as Ken puts it Mistake, Nevada is getting to be a golf destination IMO.
