This is dependent on what I see as three factors.

    1) which Vp games seem to consistently have higher than average pay tables? As in, ease of finding good games when I'm swamped with 7/5 JoB on a CET property, for example.

    2) which is easiest to learn basic strategy? I think I looked at a wizardofodds rule sheet for DDB and it was like 50 rules to memorize... Yikes that seems tough.

    3) which game is most exciting? I assume this will probably correlate to the game with the most variance.

I always wondered this as well.

I've played the Deuces Wild and that is pretty fun, not much more than the 2's are always wild to help your hand. I don't know where the best ones are.

Most people go to Deuces Wild as the next step after Jacks or Better:

    - Its pretty easy to learn - there might seem like there are a lot of rules but the rules don't clash with eachother much.

    - It has some variance, but not so heavily reliant upon the hitting big hands.

    - There are some bigger wins that are regularly attainable (IE: JoB goes from full house then its a step up to 4OAK, then straight flush and then royal flush)

If you want to go with a "bonus" style video poker Bonus Poker isn't too bad: it looks like there are a lot of different rules to follow but you can find strategy cards in most casino gift shops and it has some more variance but its not through the roof like Double Double Bonus (if you are playing DDB and not catching at least two 4OAKs every three hours it can be like setting fire to your money - and that depends on how fast you play. If you are a fast player you actually need about two per hour).

But really, if you take a good look at the double bonus rules you'll see that they are fundamentally close to Jacks or Better and even if you play Jacks or Better strategy with the 'chase the aces' exception you'll still get a pretty good return.

If you go to http://www.videopokerhelp.net/wrong_strat.html you will se that there are many different games that you can play using JB strategy. I don’t know what denomination you are playing but it is obvious that giving up 0.01% is better that giving up 2.00%. Using JB strategy you give up about 0.00% playing Bonus Poker. Playing Ace$ Bonus the loss is the same if you make one strategy change. Break aces full if 3 of the aces are in the bonus position.

Learn the complete pay schedule. I have 7 different returns listed for 9/6 JB at http://www.videopokerhelp.net/JB.htm . You could be giving up more than 1% playing the wrong 9/6 JB.

I concur on Deuces Wild and thought I read some place with optimum strategy it supposedly is one of the few games with just over 100%.

I read it on the internet so it must be true.

    Hey Now!
I went to BP- I play mostly in AC and it is the most available. Not really much more variance, gotta love those 4OAK payouts!
